Windows 8 – great window management that I just couldn’t duplicate on Mac. Snapping and app switching I find much easier – especially since I usually run lots of programs at once. Very stable OS as well.

Here’s how I usually do it. Get it by page template:

// Use get_pages function
$portfolio_pages = get_pages(array(
    'meta_key' => '_wp_page_template',
    'meta_value' => 'template-portfolio.php'
));
// Get page ID and URL
foreach($portfolio_pages as $page){
    $portfolio_page_id = $page->ID;
    $portfolio_page_url = get_permalink($portfolio_page_id);
}

Cheers,

Andre

I have followed this post, and honestly i find the theme + plugin method very risky. A question for staff:
What will stop a buyer to reuse the plugin’s we create for a certain theme into another?

If the plugin is the only thing that differentiates your theme, then maybe you should just make a plugin instead of a theme.

Having a plugin (for shortcodes for instance) is best for the customer. It also adds tremendous value to your product. Personally, I would love if they kept using the shortcodes plugin even after they switched themes. It really adds value to any themes I sell. The customer has peace of mind knowing that if they ever (inevitably) wanted to switch themes, they wouldn’t have to strip out a bunch of non-working shortcodes or start from scratch.

It would be hard to standardize CPT, however, you’re never stuck with them. Maybe a little off-topic, but there’s a great plugin out there that lets you transfer post types if you ever happen to switch themes. Great for individual posts or bulk.

This is by no means an ideal solution but a great short term one that’s worked for me in the past.

Absolutely hate those new iOS default icons. They look like something a 10 year old would throw together if I open up photoshop for him and show him only the shape and gradient tool. Love the new OSX, Love the new MBAs and love the new Mac Pro.

I wonder how icon gradients are considered “Flat” design. Isn’t that the opposite?

Great! So happy this has already got some interest. Just to clarify, I want to know where you are and what events you’ll be attending (if any) in the next 6 months in North America. No promises yet, but it would be cool to try and organise something!

I relocated to Mexico and would love to come to a central U.S place. Even better would be if it was in conjunction with a related conference – web design etc that our community might be attending. As I’m not from these parts, I need to know who would be keen and what kind of things you like to do!

To all our Europe peeps, I wish I could get there too! Unfortunately, I don’t think I’ll have the money to get there this year as well. We will get there eventually!

Mexico you say? Which part? Thinking about moving there myself for a few months. The yucatan is beautiful!

Yep, same for me. The “Mark Comments as Read” button doesn’t work and redirects to the homepage while appearing to be logged out.
