Hey sevenspark, if you don’t mind me asking what kind of monitor is that? :) And is it easy to set up to have two monitors? (i.e. do you need a thunderbolt cable or? i’ve got a macbook pro so I assume it is the same connectivity etc)

Oh and btw what is that microphone looking thing? I’ve seen it a couple times now already on pictures like yours :p

Thanks! ;)

If I may just reply, the MBA only supports one external display.

Downgraded last year from a 15” MBP to a 13” MBA (i7, 8gb RAM, 256 SSD) connected to a 24” display and it, of course, does the job more than well.

Any decent computer, PC or Mac, from 2009 to 2013 is good enough to work in our industry (at least, webdesign and other 2D stuffs).

How hilarious.

Not satisfied enough of being a copycat, you now also complain that you aren’t priced high enough? Seriously?

Oh my, you really made my day.

Moved to Global Off Topic

Hi guys, myjilson opened this thread as a way of showing respect and remembering someone who he admired. Although no one is obligated to agree, I kindly ask everyone to be a bit more tolerant and refrain from trolling. There is absolutely no point in bashing his point of view. Thanks for your understanding.

It’s amazing how the same clowns keep consistently bashing and trolling some threads :notfunny:

Seriously, get a life.

Just relax for a minute, I’m not saying you guys are Bill Gates and that you should throw your money out of the window. Buy the damn magazine or not, I really don’t care but I won’t scan it so you can read it. Actually keep the money guys so you can buy a piece of humor & happiness!
I don’t need to buy any humor .. Today, you made me laugh for free! :D

Glad I did :) I sincerely didn’t think of smiling that much by posting a reading recommandation. Thanks for this.

^ Elite money is not free money. It requires 24/7 work and to be precise, authors are not hobbyists with billions in bank. Elite just points a milestone (but the badge may point you we are like $10000000000….)

No kidding! You actually just busted a myth.

Seriously, as a hard worker I’m sure you also know that producing and editing a magazine like that one, is a one-man show and require more than just “24/7 work and sweat”. I’m pretty he isn’t a hobbyist either.

On topic, Collis pretty much told us the story of how things started with Envato, the up and (a lot) of downs. He also explained how the community is the actual core of their business, etc. Finally he explained a hack on how to easily become a billionaire selling flyers & WP themes but I might be wrong on this last part :)

You don’t get it .. People don’t buy my themes because they want to “support me”. They buy my themes because they “need them”. It’s the same things. Even if i’m Elite, i won’t buy that magazine, because “i don’t need it” :D

You made the wrong assumption that Elite authors have enough money to buy all the things that they see on the internet :D

Hm sorry I didn’t mean to say it was free or something. Should have mentioned the article is not readable, even though it makes sense.

Jeez, are you guys that greedy with your Elite money to not buy a magazine?

Hi guys,

I don’t know if a thread has already been created about this, but I thought you might be interested to hear about this fantastic magazine which is Offscreen Magazine.

It features a lot of interviews and stories about the ones “behind bits & pixels”. Collis, Envato CEO is actually being interviewed in the last issue! Highly inspiring.

Cheers.

As according to the forum rules we have to design it in 72ppi and DOUBLE THE PIXEL size isn’t it? not the resolution… as xcode supports 72ppi. so the image size should be doubled? and it says to include the 326ppi version IF WE WISH TO ONLY ? So I submitted a file in 72ppi in the standard version and doubled the image size in the retina version. Unfortunately the it had been soft rejected and one reason says the files are not retina compatible…... all the other submitted files had included the 326ppi version but I didn’t because I thought it it’s not a must according to the forum rules. PLEASE SOME BODY HELP ME …..

Standard: example_file.png / 100×150px / 72ppi

Retina: example_file@2x.png / 200×300px / 72ppi

Is the way it should be. There is no 326ppi involved anywhere.
