I’ve been an author for a few years now and I saw that in that lately people has been developing custom solution which includes mostly BBpress forums with a layer of item purchase verification code.
I’m wondering how other people are doing support right now and if you think there is a room for improvement in that field?
I’m considering building a custom solution for authors to handle support. (I know of “Ticksy” But i’ve heard they have decide to close the project or just leave it as is).
If I were to build a custom solution that will allow author to sign-up and have there own support desk with item purchase verification included of course – What would you like this solution to have?
(example: Email notifications etc.)

I don’t think there is something like that, and I personally would not use buddypress for it. I’d develop something custom with Ruby on Rails.

It’s not a bad idea. But right now, almost everyone can afford a smartphone, and there are plenty sale notifications apps on the market (some of them are really advanced). I personally prefer to pay few bucks for an application (and use it forever haha), than spend at least 2,5$/month for SMS notifications.

It’s basically a service that will send you an SMS every time you make a sale. It’s always more fun to know you made money and it doesn’t require you to even have a smartphone (just a phone capable of receiving SMS messages)I though about a pricing of:
- $2.49/month for up to 100 SMS sales notifications.
- $5.99/month for up to 500 SMS sales notifications.
- $15.99/month for up to 1000 SMS sales notifications.
Is that something you guys be interested in? would you pay for it?
