I’m self-educated aswell! I started out because of a friend which was producing for fun, and I showed him this place which was called flashden back then.. and he showed me how he produces music so I started too, with a little help I knew the basics and started watching video tutorials, well I’m lucky that there’s youtube and since I’m using FL, I’m also glad that image-line keeps uploading videos on how to do certain things… so you can pretty much learn everything from there! I still watch videos on their channel today!

and I also like FutureMusic Magazine on youtube, they do interviews with big musicians and show how they work in the studio and how they work with the DAW they’re using, so for me it’s nice to see how producers like Afrojack, Avicii, Madeon or Deadmau5 work, since they’re using FL like me, I learn a lot from that too > http://www.youtube.com/user/FutureMusicMagazine

if you’re an self-educated musician, you definetely have to have some sort of motivation and enthusiasm to keep on learning new stuff! at least for me.

fact is, he made that song, Katy Perry loved it and tweeted it, that’s how it was spread from Asia over to Europe and America, it was luck… but anyway you see it and if you like it or not, he produced a hit.
I had to google for ‘Katy Perry’ and i still don’t know who she is..

did you live in a cave for the last 5 years or do you just never listen radio or watch tv? It’s like saying you don’t know madonna! :D

mine are quite simple:
  • start composing music again, I hope 1 song per week.
  • watch more video tutorials on youtube and improve my skills.
  • make a lot more sales
  • save it for an OP-1 & Pulse controller (in case it gets a windows update, you might like this tool! discovered it this week.)
  • compose even more awesome music with that baby!

I’m not a very big musician here with many files (but should definetely start again) that could give decent feedback, but from those songs I’ve heard I think you’re really a piano man, but you’re also very good at electronic and pop tracks, which I like especially! I also thought I’d give some individual feedback to some tracks:

“Classical Dance” is a good mix of both classic and house, which I think is a brilliant idea and track!

“Corporate Exclusive”, don’t know if that’s appropriate to say here, but I’d say it’s a bit much going on in this track regarding the instruments. so less is more, but that’s just my personal opinion.

the who’s online thing with a online badge has been discussed several times… and as far as I can remember it, a lot were against it, including myself. don’t know about others here, but I wouldn’t like people to know when I’m online or not. don’t see the need for it either!

that’s the same as the Gender Badge someone once suggested, it’s just unnecessary!
