Well, uploading the textures to the GPU takes up most of the time. Starling initialization is just maybe 2 seconds. But if you upload an uncompressed texture of type 2048×2048, that takes on older devices 3-6 seconds.

Well, it is on the App Store now. However since you have an iPhone 4 / iPad 2 I recommend to wait for the next update. There are some memory issues that cause the app to crash on older devices. Got some terrible ratings cause of that already. 512 MB of ram is very little if you want to take advantage of Retina to the max (and 200 MB of these 512MB are already used up by Siri and the iOS).

Right tsafi, Starling is really big.

I hope my new game gets through the review this week. You have to have a look at it. It is technically the most advanced Air app I ever created using Starling extensively. Landscape and portrait mode support, 3 screen sizes (iPhone4, iPhone5, iPad), multi-touch, and three languages (English,Spanish, and German).

Well @tsafi…. I am about to make my peace with Apple. They are paying me so much money every month…who could not resists maybe not to love them…or follow them anywhere…but with the time one can be really good friends with them.

Yea, I am afraid you have to update to iOS 6 for it to work out.

That is ridiculous that you have to wait so long for approval. Apple guarantees me approval within 7 days. But that’s maybe because I am from Europe/Germany and we are more trustworthy in regard to copyright compliance and such. China has quite a reputation nowadays in regard to stealing and violating intellectual property and trademark rights. That’s maybe because they take your review a bit more serious.
