Having problems with this kind of buyers every day also.

We should create a list of things like that to point it out to buyers, like the definition of an HTML template…....to mention also that buying a 15 $ template does not include all the modifications coming from our suport side until they finish their website….meaning 15$ is just that framework that needed a webdesigner help in order to archieve a final website with content and all that special customizations they want….

And the most important one from the wordpress themes side this time, not to install all the archive they download in wordpress….just the theme folder. I had people asking for refunds and telling me it’s the worst theme ever because they got that style sheet missing error from installing all the archive in wordpress.

I think the solution is a dedicated page with all this included.

Cheers.

well I am working on something and I named it after my ex-girlfriend :) and also my next projects are named after women I’ve dated :)

That’s funny :)

We have used latin names in some of the themes. I think the best way to find names for the themes is to play with words, start from a basic word and add prefixes and suffixes to make it sound cooler. As for the niche themes it’s best to use the niche name also in the title, for a better search function.

Well I was waiting for this release for a long time :)

I am a big fan of the new interface, the design and the feel of this 8 version it definitely a stept up into the future.

Cannot wait to update, but will wait for a few months to find myself a new PC also. I will go for sure for a HP touch smart , all in one PC, solution. With a touch screen and a keyboard.

Hi Ciprian,

Here is what I recomand.

First I think tutorials available over the WEB are covering just the tehnical part of the design. Will learn you only how to create the design, but not to make it high quality.

So for this first part you will need to practice and practice untill you learn all the tehnical tips and trics of the design software you will use.

Then from my point of view the high quality comes from the details. And that is what you need to study. And the details can only be learned by analizing other designs (not only websites designs, also out world designs , nature, photos, arhitecture, interior design..etc ) and study the small details that make things perfect (shadows, colors, sizes, arangements, spaces, textures, and the way they combine togheter).

For example the WEB part, analizing great websites designs, or illustrations from the web galleries or showcases like dribbble and others, you can get a lot of details from them. See how the simplest websites design can create a huge impact because of the small hidden details they have, like fonts, colors, spacing, borders and photos puted in the right places to impress visually.

Also I think that you must find your own style, your own vision about design, not try to create things that allready exists, try to take only the best details of the things you see, and put it together in an original way. This will define your style.

Hope this helps.

It’s just some personal thinking, and some things I am doing now myself.

Cheers.

1. Page builders:

Advantage: easier to understand and use than shortcodes by the user, if they are well explain in the HELP file, or video tutorials.

Disadvantage: takes more time to build one, and will load the theme with some extra files

2. Shortcodes:

Definitely NOT the ones without some editor buttons to automatically load the shortcode framework. Do not let the user to add also the frame of the shortcode manually, let him add just the content of the shortcode.

Advantage: Easier to build and edit/add new ones. Faster because of the less files added to the theme.

Disadvantage: Not very user friendly by the beginer users, that will have to arange manually the codes in the editor. But if they are well explain in the HELP file will do the job.

As a conclusion, from my point of view, either of them will work fine as long as you will create a simple logical system to add the units (shortcodes or sections of the page builder) and explain it well in the HELP files.

Also as you can see in the “forest” a simple theme with basic no custom admin options can stay in front of the ones with hundred of options :)

Regards.

I live in a cute little town in Switzerland

Nice country to live :)

We agree in more “Food&Restaurant themes” , it is a niche with potential, this why it’s on our list to do as future themes. Also I think envato should start some new “Most Wanted” rewards based on niche like this one, I would jump in for sure :P

Greetings.
