Glad to have things clarified. I’ve read through the notes and will read the licenses in detail to make sure I’m clear on the idea. I do think the chain can extend more than 3 items however, for example, a graphic (Item A) can be incorporated into a credit card number verification script (Item B ) on CodeCanyon. That credit card number verification script can be implemented into a shopping cart script/ecommerce (Item C), and that shopping cart script can be implemented into a content management system (Item D) developed specifically for CodeCanyon, and that CMS can be implemented into a very elaborate corporate management system (Item E) developed specifically for CodeCanyon with all the bells and whistles (theoretically larger).... Yes, would probably never happen.

I am not sure what you are getting at. I am simply asking a question out of curiosity which came to thought when I was thinking about purchasing an item from here under the extended license to be used with one of my items. If my statement “that would be correct” isn’t clear enough, You are absolutely correct about items being required to be released under the regular license. In a whole different set of words: yes, it must be released under the regular license. Moreover, my question is NOT about the regular license, I know that the regular license is a must. I am simply asking a question about the extended license not whether it is possible to sell an item only under the extended license.

Hope this makes sense, I know my explanations are sometimes confusing.

There is no way u can sell the item under extended license only

Are you sure you can buy an item and include it in your own item? Because I don’t think is possible. Or is it?

To my understanding of the extended license, purchasing an item under the extended license gives you the rights to incorporate the item into your own item that can be distributed. However, the item purchased under the extended license cannot be redistributed on its own, it must be incorporated in a project or item.

Hopefully an Envato staff member can clear the air on all the questions.

It’s been a while since I’ve posted in the forum, but I have been reading frequently (for those wondering)

Anyway, I’ve checked the Knowledge base and did not find any helpful information regarding my concern. I would like to incorporate an item ( A ) that I liked here with one of my items ( B ) (purchasing A under the extended license to incorporate with item B.)

Firstly, how should the license of item A be included, if at all, with item B? Secondly, if item B is to also be offered for sale under the extended license, what happens to the license of item A? Can that who purchases item B redistribute it incorporated with their own item ( C ) by retaining the licenses of item A and B? (Item A + Item B => Item C) or (Item A + Item B + ... => Item Final)

I’m assuming the extended license (for incorporated items) in this case would hold through for the extended license purchaser of Item B or C, but I would like an official response.
