We did our first ever global staff meetup at Catalyst Ranch in 2010. It was such a great venue. You guys are in for a treat, you can see bits of it in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wdt0qyS0mpk&list=FLJr72fY4cTaNZv7WPbvjaSw
Thanks for letting us know about this. The reason that the search rankings were a bit funky for certain terms is because we weight search results not just based on the relevance to the term, but also on factors like the number of successful deliveries, customer reviews etc. Thanks to your feedback, the devs dug into the weightings of all of those different factors and have made some tweaks which means search results should be a lot more relevant to what’s being searched, while still taking into account factors like deliveries and reviews etc. WIN!
We’ll be deploying in the next few hours, so you should see much better search results soon (eg: searching for “roll-up banner”, will actually return the appropriate services at the top).
Really appreciate the feedback! <3
Sorry to hear you didn’t get a reply That’s no good. If you let Studio support know who you dealt with (the person who didn’t reply at all, and the one who stopped answering) they will follow up with the providers, as we expect them to be responsive. If you still need a hand customising your theme, your best bet would be to look for a service that has really great recommendations from other customers, and people who have a quick average response time (you can see this information on their service page).
If you end up writing to our support team, I’d be happy to approve a 15% off discount as a once-off goodwill gesture because of your poor experience with Studio. Just mention in your email that Jordan approved a discount and they will shoot it over to me.
Hope you’ll give our providers another shot, and again – sorry you had a poor experience.
Take care! Jords
I was looking at the video section http://studio.envato.com/explore/video-animation and have a question:
Those first 3 jobs are essentially the same, just different price points for different animation lengths. As Studio expands, it’s pretty obvious this will lead to pages and pages of variations of the same job. So why aren’t they being merged into one?
That other site I’m sure you’re familiar with has a nice approach… a base price for a job, with “extras” to that job in case the client wants them. One job page, multiple options.Another example: Many authors on videohive have templates for 100 images. A template like this on Studio shouldn’t have the same price for customizing 10 images or 100. So if the author wanted to add price-points for different number of images customized, that would mean multiple jobs, instead of one job with extras inside. Add to that more authors, more templates… and soon Studio will be a mess to browse.
Yeah, we’ve discussed this internally, and how it could get messy when the categories are a lot larger. It’s something we’re considering at the moment – perhaps we’ll implement a different way to sort, perhaps add-ons to a base service or maybe something entirely different. Not ready to announce anything yet, but it’s totally on our radar!
