Has been ten days now, with only 3 sales… Not exactly what I was hoping for with my first item. But yeah, guess I will have to improve for the next.

Good question. And I’d say yes there are. But quite frankly, coming up with something entirely new has become as hard as never before. Nowadays it seems like everything has already been done in some fashion or another. I’d almost say that the market for Wordpress Themes is about to be saturated. It doesn’t even suffice anymore to have a brilliant execution in order to have decent sales that compensate for its efforts (well at least for the smaller authors among us).

I don’t think this is necessarily a lack of creativity of authors but more a problem of market-saturation. And I wouldn’t also say that most look-alike themes here are necessarily copied, it’s just natural with so many wordpress themes on themeforest.

Got my first item approved today after only one soft-rejection! YAY !

Hey Everyone! I am currently at the process of finding myself into themeforest as an author. As a start I created a little vCard css/html Template and I would just love to know what you guys think, and if you think that it is likely to be rejected and why. It’s not completely done yet but I’d like to collect some thoughts, to get an idea if it is going in the right direction.

Hi Guys, my first post here.

I’m kind of curious how you guys set your theme up to enable the user to swap style elements such as bg-color, bg, design elements, colors in general.

Do you simply provide multiple folders with preview jpgs, or do you provide a something like a setup.php, where the buyer can choose how he wants his template and then the script will install it?

I’m asking because I am currently working on a design where I want to implement multiple color designs and stuff and I am looking for ways to do this conveniently for the user.

Any help appreciated!
