I am desparate for a simple Wordpress template for a retirement home. I only ask for Wordpress because I know bets how to work it myself after upload. Anyone out there that can recommend a template or make me one?

You should try looking at the HTML templates and pay for someone to port it.

Work on the typography, on that gray text at least (it lacks contrast). You might also try and boost up the colors a bit, and add gradients or effects to the color. And the icons kind of lack the meaning.

I just realized there’s a “Site Suggestions & Feedback”. Heh, sorry about that.

Great design, but could you please do something about the gradient on the background :D add some blending to it.

I’m thinking of using one of the items available here on a project for my client. The company needs a website and ordinarily I’d make the design myself, however as the economy is what it is they’ve asked if there are any ways to keep the cost lower. Now TF is a great option for this.

The only problem is that I’m really scared of all the legal responsibility I have over what they would do with the template.

I’m guessing I’m not the only one in this position so any legal advice would be greatly appreciated. I was thinking about having them sign an agreement what states their rights and the original authors rights to the whole site, mainly what they can and can’t do.

Thank you all in advance.

Hi! I’ve been lucky enough that I’ve been recently receiving a huge amount of great feedback over the email, I’ve also been actively helping people who bought my designs to either customize or port them, afterwards received some more great feedback.

Currently the only public place to give feedback about the support authors give (and I think every author should give it freely to some extend) is on a particular item. Now it would be really nice to have some kind of system to be able to receive feedback to your profile from users who’ve bought something from you and let other potential buyers know what they are getting.

Naturally this would only work if you’d be able to block some of the feedback, otherwise it would be really easy for someone to ruin your reputation for just a couple of bucks… This would actually make it a bit more of a “recommendations page” rather than feedback.

Actually, it’s not only Arik’s screen. I’m looking through someone else’s Dell laptop at the moment and the background color of your avatar is completely black, and the reflection is almost invisible. No other FX are visible.

Dells have magical “always right” colors? :) I actually just did calibrate with a Spyder3 Elite and I can clearly see the two different blurs behind the text, the reflection and the line over the text.

Anyways, I will really have to think about buying CS3 . It’s just that it seems so expensive in relation to the new features I get when comparing to Gimp…

Any ideas where I could safely get CS* used?

Might be my screen but I just see text in your avatar :P I don’t know of any alternatives however.
You should really calibrate your screen(s) :D
You can also create text effects on PS like the reflection with gaussian without loosing the edit capabilities of the text…
To some extent yes, but some of the things I’d like to do need a static copy of the text layer.

The CS for Mac that I could find costs some ridiculous $400. I wouldn’t pay that much even for the latest version :D

Does anybody know any alternative to PS that supports the PSD format with the “dynamic” text? Even a Win only version would do…

ArkiB: What comes to the “fancy effects” I mostly mean minor things like reflections with gaussian blur and modified perspective and tweaked shadows. Probably not the best example, but take a look at my avatar.
