Good News Michelle, thanks! I ´ll wait till the new search is implemented, surely you will create a new post to warn all the users about this awaited update!
The problem is Envato/audio jungle not having a proper license for TV broadcast for a much higher price. Seems like they are missing out on such a great opportunity for us and them.pinkzebra saidEverything’s said here! All the problem (if there was one when i open this ticket) is that Envato has to adjust the price for AJ items. Why? Because there is no only two ways of using a track. Outside of AJ, I don’t charge the same price for big company, a small creative agency or an unprofessional videomaker… Even if the product at the end it’s the same, the price would be relative to the budget… And I think that licenses have to go the same way.
I don’t think it makes sense to anyone that it should cost the same to license a track for a national Suzuki TV ad as it does to license the same track for a YouTube cat video.
When you check other music marketplaces, all prices are relative to the use (and it’s usely more expensive than AJ, almost multiplied by 3 or 4…).
At first sight, this commercial is good for authors, but is way more convenient for the agency that bought the music in AJ. A little change to the price tables is not going to hurt AJ, just adding more options for national or worldwide commercials; without changing the other prices.
Art-of-Sound has already explained very well about the license, but I’d like to go a little off topic (not much though ) and ask (once again): How is it possible that for a broadcasting use (of ALL kinds: radio, TV, regional, national etc…) ENVATO still does not have a separate (much higher in price) license…???
In my opinion selling a track for broadcasting is much more important than selling for re-selling purpose…People who buy for commercial for ex. have a high budget and their final product will always be something much more important than the usual web video…
I’m fine with selling with 17$ to an independent web project…BUT I’m pretty sure you agree that selling a track for that same 17$ and then seeing it (and hearing it) on national television tens of times a day is NOT quiet alright….
I’ve heard so many many times AudioJungle tracks on national television both in Romania and Italy… TimMcMorris, metrolightmusic, jhunger and so on…
Sorry for the long post and I know that has already been discussed but it’s something that still hasn’t been solved…
+1 Is something thats always discussed but never worked out
That is both great and bad! Nice to listen your music on TV but a good moment to analyze how Extended licences works. I ll stay tune to this thread.
Congrats Envato! Huge milestone
That´s a great vision!
