I would like to personally encourage the authors on VH that I appreciate your hard work, creative talent, and desire to get paid what you are worth. Personally, the price change was well deserved and the fact remains that like all businesses its all about the quality supply and demand. Keep up the great work, and stay encouraged!
With all the talk of money, I’d almost forgotten how much good a little bit of old fashioned appreciation can do.Thanks for the support, Imagodei.
Indeed! Thanks for the support!
graphic4444 saidWhat I’m doing is moderating the forum. Anyway, thanks for reporting me. I look forward to senior management’s response.
Felt – I’ve reported your post attacking me to envato sr mgmt. for staff reply, as it appears you are being confrontational and attacking me publicly which I do not appreciate.
As do I. I expect professional conduct here, not attacks.
Let’s see who should be paid attention to; the guy who’s spent thousands of dollars supporting the authors, for years, and posting hundreds of positive comments supporting the authors in their projects (that’s me), or someone attacking Envato’s top customer? I’d appreciate more professional conduct, particularly from a volunteer mod. Attacking and trying to boss me around does not = moderating, it is heavy handed attacking which I do not appreciate. You have been reported. Envato, I’d recommend removing ‘felt_tips’ as a moderator, based on his misconduct here.Let’s all be positive, supportive and professional.
I’m expressing my opinion as an author right now not as a moderator.
Now that we got that out of the way, no one is attacking you graphic4444. Can you please point us to the sentence where someone is attacking you? We are simply stating our opinions which are different then yours and it seems that you can’t accept that because, from what i understood, you bought more then 1000 files and that gives you some kind of power to talk to us like you own us and this place, which i don’t appreciate at all.
ok then creattive if you disagree so much, i just won’t every buy any more of Your projects, though i have been a good customer of yours and bought from you before. bye bye, i never buy from you again in this lifetime, i don’t like people who argue with me without honest reason which i do not see.
and yes most other ae sites don’t have per-usage license restriction which if you use a template here for more than one project makes VH prices higher than anyone else, since if i want to use in 3 projects i must pay 3 times the price (which I have, since I honor the license terms). no other ae template site does that license restriction, which is the biggest problem. if envato let things be 3-5 use for personal/my own non client projects, which is more reasonable, then yes pricing is ok
a long-standing competitor who’s been around since before vh is now offering world class templates at just $1 for example. i buy everywhere, i know the marketplace.
I’m one of the world’s top ae template buyers, period. arguing with good customers is generally an unwise idea. Look at all the buyers who read this and see you argue with the world’s top ae buyer. Well you get no more sales from me in this lifetime, I vote with tens of thousands of $$ I’ve spent on templates, here and other sites.I’m just speaking my honest thoughts as a lead buyer in this marketplace. Attacking my points is probably not a wise idea. Just sayin. I’m successful in my business; I tend to VALUE what my customers say to me, and respect it, which is why I’ve sold so much during the 15 years I’ve been online fulltime, one of the top industry marketers worldwide.
Honestly graphic4444 i don’t think Creattive was trying to be rude or something, he just has a different opinion which i agree with.
Since the price increase my sales doped but my earnings stayed the same, so i can say i’m at that crossroad of price/sales.
And about the website selling world class AE templates for 1$ that is just wrong at so many levels. I would never ever make another AE template for VH if the price was 1$.
Not trying to argue or anything, just stating my opinion as an author and not as a moderator.
Also this is from NASA’s web site:
Image Use Policy Most materials published on the Earth Observatory, including images, are freely available for re-publication or re-use, including commercial purposes, except for where copyright is indicated. In those cases you must obtain the copyright holder’s permission; we usually provide links to the organization that holds the copyright.
I am moderator here but mainly i’m an author who earns money doing this. So i want to express my opinion now as an author and not as a moderator.
What about 716 Earth project files on Videohive? Did everyone give you a licence for Earth texture? Every texture you see here and on the web is probably from NASA, i mean how are you going to get the texture of earth?!
The author clearly asked and got a response from NASA which is awesome and i think it should be added to knowledge base with the answer from NASA so we can finally move on with this Earth texture thing.
