The approach is definitely unique and something I’d like to see here on TF, but definitely a tad too minimalist. For something like this to fluorish, you need awesome type and that’s hard to achieve free fonts.

Thanks, Sir – I would have loved to use Skolar or Tisa via Typekit, but as you’ve mentioned, it’s free fonts all the way here. I guess its back to the drawing board. Or other, worse theme marketplaces.

Out of interest, is there any improvement when you put the featured post and thumbnails in? Like here. That was the initial PS mockup, I just couldn’t figure out the images bits :)

It does improve it. I would go back to the drawing board and look at what sort of features are included in top selling themes of this nature. Even with additional features you can maintain a minimalist and type-based style. Definitely check out f-i.com, Yaron Schoen, and journal.gregorywood.co.uk. I think you may get some use out of these designers.

hello

I am a french user of wordpress (3.3.1), the Inspiration theme works well, except that it does not support accented characters like “é” or “à”, the article is truncated when accented characters should be displayed.

how to solve my problem please?

What font does it use? If it’s using a custom font that doesn’t support accented characters, then you’ll have to switch fonts. Or it’s possible that it came with a custom webfont that supports accented characters, but authors will often remove it from the font manually to decrease the file download size (which will make it lighter on the server).

Hello dear themeforest users and moderators. I was working on a psd template for days and today i finally finished it and sent it. Then i started to write the html/css part of the template but i just saw its rejected. I think i’ve done all the themeforest requirements. Now i can only ask you guys to help me is it really worse than the templates in themeforest ???

TEMPLATE SCREENSHOTS :

http://theprojectpartner.com/themeforest/ thank you for your consideration…

It’s a neat concept, but I think you’ll need to practice your design skills for another year or more. Takes a long time to get good and ThemeForest is pretty strict about quality. I’d suggest reading up on design books (The Smashing Book is great) and also check out stuff from Dribbble and aim to achieve the quality that’s often seen on there.

Good luck on your journey, look forward to seeing stuff from you in the future :)

The Apple Thunderbolt Display. I’ve used it before and I find it pretty awesome. But then again I don’t have any windows/lights directly behind me, so no glare issues.

Another tip.. Make good friends with other designers, as they may hand you some extra work from time to time.

Hi!

I’m searching for a wordpress theme that has two sidebars. One on each side. I have tried putting 3 columns in the search bar but the results don’t apply to other pages but instead only the homepage. I’ve tried putting unlimited sidebars but that too didn’t give me the right results. Any ideas how I can search for a theme like that or do I really have to go through every single theme on this website?

Thanks!

Chimica

I haven’t really seen this type of design before to tell you the truth. What kind of site are you setting up?

...as i dont even need to i can just create elements seperately and code them, that saves a lot times for me
It’s not about what’s easy for you, it’s about what the customer wants. Obviously the PSD is not required, but it’s often considered essential by customers. You’ll get people complaining if you don’t include the PSD files.
I did not see a single customer change the PSD files from the themes we created. :))

We had complaints for not including PSD files to our first theme and I know of quite a few people specifically who have used our PSD files.
