Seems like you are having too many categories in the top menu.

Well, its a good start but I think you have a lot of work to do before its ready for ThemeForest.
First of all, the responsive features doesnt work 100%, some elements overlaps in smaller screens.
In terms of the design, I think you should work on alignment. Try using a grid system and make all elements placed in a natural flow. Please see this screen for an example. http://openthemer.com/fluzz.png
You also need to work on typography and visual hierarchy. Its hard to see headings, or which parts of the content that is most important.
Work on that, and maybe put some more energy on details, like borders, icons, buttons etc, and this will be a nice theme:)
Good luck!
Its http://cufon.shoqolate.com/ btw
Well, font-face and directly importing from google looks pretty much the same on windows I guess. I haven’t seen any difference. Maybe some fonts looks better in certain sizes etc which makes google fonts render perfectly in wondows.
If you want a bit more smooth rendering you would try using cufon. (It may too smooth in some cases) If you can not mark the text letter by letter in a website, it probably use cufon for rendering the fonts.
Well, the easiest way I would say is to look at stock images and spend a couple of bucks for high quality images. Try photodune.com or bigstock.com which offer cheap images.
Otherwise, you can try searching for images licensed under the creative common. You wont probably find images as good as in the stock websites.
Good luck!
Hi there,
Nice to see a swed in the forum!
Well, first of all, the spacing issue is one important. I tried to open your sketch and made it 150 px higher, then moved each element away from each other to make more spacing, see this print to see what I mean.
http://www.openthemer.com/yummy2.pngWith the typo, I would say Lobster is a bit overused. Try to mix around with different fonts, different sizes, colors etc. Im sure you will end up with a result you really like!
To get the theme even better, I would suggest you spend some more time working on details. Im thinking about the 3 boxes for example. They look a bit “quick fixed” right now with just a simple 1 px border. Try to mix with different borders, typo etc, maybe add a read-more-button to each box?
Other details you might consider is some patterns and borders to make it look more alive. I really like the top border which looks really well done, but maybe the header and footer would look better with some smooth pattern? Try searching http://subtlepatterns.com/ which offers many fresh patters which are free to use commercially in themes.
Good luck and wish to see your theme approved soon:)
Hmm, which one? Im trying to make it look a bit more different. Do you think it would be rejected because of uniqueness at this point?
Thanks for having a look mate!
Well, I’m going thro arrows etc right now. Of course there will not only one example image for products. I also agree the sideshow and banners need some improvements as well.
Another question, Im feeling my theme is getting a bit similar as the magento theme called Blanco. Do you think there is a risk as it looks now?
Thanks again!
I have been sketching on an Opencart design for some time.. I think I would need some fresh eyes from you guys:)
Do you think this would have any chance to get approved? What do you think is the weak/strong aspects in this design?
Some general suggestions?
