Well I can understand there is some confusion, but than again usely when I am purchasing something I make sure I know what i’m buying. I mean it’s not really cleaver to purchase something and than think how can I use it.
Don’t you think making a thread like this is just as unprofessional? Although I totally agree with you, there have been way to much of those threads lately.
But there are also people who are freelancers and doing this to pay there bills. How much I agree with you that the pleasure in creating new things is great and always deserves respect, it also has the risk in not selling well. And when you see a logo sting that has over a 1000 sales which proves it has a lot of people asking for such a template, why would you ignore that?
I do however think that your template shouldn’t be a 1 on 1 copy in name, music, and camera movements.
Well it’s not mine as in my personal showreel, but I did however created the showreel. It’s the company I work for with a friend called RoadworksTV. http://vimeo.com/45151160#at=0
Best thing to do is to contact support. I don’t know if they’ve send you an email about this, if so maybe you can respond to that.
Why didn’t you try to do something different with the technique? I mean you used social media icons, when you knew there was already a file like this. You could have gone a whole different way with this.
Also before submitting, be criticial. If you used a file for inspiration you really have to look good at it and decide wether or not it’s the same.
Now back to the drawing table because you have great other projects in your portfolio
For me motion graphics started in 2008 when I started to realize I wouldn’t be learning the stuff at school. Started with CS3 . In 2004 however I started with editing, back than Premiere Pro was to complicated for me so I did it with Sony Vegas, 7 or 6 can’t really remember. Than I switched to Premiere Pro 2.0.
A lot has changed since than
I like this idea. I think there are a lot of different authors here who can think of other things than you.
Although I do hope it will be different than ThemeForest, there it’s just people who don’t understand why there theme wasn’t accepted. Even though it sometimes is pretty obvious why.
You should come up with a fixed hour price, that way it’s much easier for you to give a price to the client. It may not be a big effort to edit a template, but if it takes 2 hours to render it out it’s still 2 hours you’re working on the project and can’t work on you’re own work.
Geez, one song that’s really difficult. But Hotel California is the one I love most.
