Great work with the video, Adam! Wish I was there to meet you guys…
Yes, when will the European meetup will be held ?
Don’t mistake the musicbusiness for music
The people behind the musicbusiness today might know how to make money but nothing about creativity, which makes the whole thing a dog and pony show
But there has been, and allways will be, artists / musicians doing good music !
great discussion here as allways.
Same for me, why should i “detroy” a track by extending it for the sake of a few cents ? If it’s a boring piece of music then, nobody will buy it because of that AND the high price.
Keep on rocking everyone
There was another thread a while ago with the same point in discussion.
One of my best selling tracks are exactly like described by abir187. Whenever i do a Videoproject myself, i wish i could find a nice complete music composition, but would also be nice to get the single pieces to use them in my project more flexible. Best example is if you have an audiotrack for a intro and you use a lot of FX for appearance, title swoshes etc.. It very handy if they come seperate, and the customer is able to place them exactly where needed.
I also agree with envato on the other hand, that if they start to sell bits and pieces, they would loose somehow the quality character of this marketplace. But, i think, if we just add some single parts of the complete tracks for free to the download, this will make your customer happy and envato should be ok with that ( i guess ).
Thank you for taking time and answer directly trough the thread. Don’t take me wrong, i realy accept your guys desicion, when rejecting a submission. I’s just that i had recently a few soft rejected files where the “fault” has been, that the reviewer probably not read the file description properly ( lack of time ) and i had to open a ticket with support which is a waste of time then for everyone. Saying this, you are right that not everyone owns Photoshop, but in my file description this was clearly explained that it uses Photoshop placeholders and so i think it’s completely fair. If you have a official guideline where you don’t accept this kind of files, this is fine for me, it would just be good to know for all of us, so we dont waste time with these kind of projects then.
I will now try to achieve the 3D text fx in AE directly and submit the file again. It’s all just about the time ( for reviewers and authors ) we can afford to spend on such a project, which you said is at the end only a simple title sequence for a few buck’s
Thanks again and please don’t take any of this personal, i’ve just tried to explain my point of view.
Have a great day Daniel
Sad to see this happens to all kinds of digital art. It’s even whorst on the music side with all the mp3 sharing. When we made our last album, it was allready on pirate sites before the CD’s where pressed in the factory … that’s realy frustrating
Anyway, lets keep an eye out there and do what we can against it.
I submitted a AE project where i use 3D text from a Photoshop file / placeholder. I thought this is a common way to work and easiest for the user to replace the text ( if needed with the same 3D text fx ). The Photoshop files where also included in the upload and are realy simple to edit ( sure, you need to have Photoshop ). Now, i should remove the placeholders and submit the file again, but isn’t this just making the project less atractive ? I mean, everyone who’s buying a AE project can place a regular text into the placeholder composition by creating a textlayer instead of editing the Photoshop files in case he does not own that application.
Everything is very briefly described in the PDF Manual which comes with the project.
