Wow, looks like an epic bit of work there! I have no idea what Max is but building your own synth sounds cool. Nice one :)

Max is basically a bit of visual programming software that lets you make almost anything you can think of. It’s so addictive. The only problem is that when I’m programming something in Max, I lose the craving to write music, I guess because they’re both creative. :)

Must say that looks really interesting. Good job, are you going to demo it for us? :)

Thanks man. Yeah I will be. I need to get hold of some better screen recording software first. But pretty soon I’ll do a short demo using some free software that records for about 2 mins :)

Cool to see people are interested in this stuff!

Looks ace! How long did it take to build? I had a go at making effects in Max a couple of times but it drove me crazy!
Thanks man. Well I started in January and have spent many nights working out it, so probably around 250-300 hours. Although a lot of this time has been spent tweaking the smallest things! haha :D It’s such an addictive piece of software
I bet! I’d be interested to hear it in action. What are your plans for it? Personal use? Release it on max community?

Well i have to present it to my class in April and if i’m happy with it then I’d like to make it available for people to use, but not to be able to see all the patching, just use it to write/perform music. Ideally I’d like to make it into a plug-in but I think that’s pretty difficult from what i’ve heard/read. I’m guessing people would only be able to use it as a Max standalone or in Ableton Live. Either way, I want to release it somehow and it would be great if I could get it posted somewhere on the Max website.

I’m not familiar with Max or that end of things, but that’s really nice to see. Thanks for sharing!

Hey thanks, you should give it a try :D

Had to make some sort of instrument in Max for part of my DIgital Signal Processing module at university and now it’s nearly finished. You can pretty much see what the features are in the screenshot below, although the step sequencer has a few not-so-clear things going on…

Anyone else use Max and has made something interesting? (I know Will Bedford is a bit of a Max wizard ;))

Here’s a screenshot. I’ll be doing a video later and will post a link, if you’re interested ;)

Maybe we should all just be thankful that AJ reviews items very quickly compared to many other stock sites. Anything under 30 days is a bonus in this business!

+1!

What is the process actually like that makes review times so wildly fluctuate? At first at was a max 4-6 days, then 2, then 6-7, the 3, then 4, then 5, then 2 again, then 4-5, then 2, then a few hours, then a day, then 2, then 3, then 4, then 5-6 and then 9 now still 9, which has made me less inclined to submit stuff. What’s going on??? Why are’t the review times always 3 days? Why does it have to keep fluctuating?
Who do you care? It’s pretty obvious why it fluctuates; every single author doesn’t submit the exact same amount of files every week, and the reviewers don’t work the exact same hours every week, there are tons of variables that don’t need to be listed. If the review time remained the same, now that would be weird!
Because if there’s a specific reason it happens, it can be controlled better.
So they should hire on-call reviewers when they get a big influx of submissions?

What an absolute waste of money that would be
