I think you’ll get better results if you post your e-mail or enable messages in your Profile
The team can restore the items back even when deleted without problems, sure you’ll need to contact they with a fair reason to do so.
How someone like @SimpleRain could be ripped in $9k? LOL
We don’t have rules about prices here, the guy you’ll hire will define the price they want. A lot of variables can be used:
- The project difficulty - Who is hiring you (some guys charge less from startups, not all they, of course) - The amount of avaliable time you have - How many projects you already have
This that if is a famous and recognized guy he’ll probably charge more because he probably has a lot of work offers. The guy that started in little time, has a weak portfolio will charge less because he probably doesn’t has work offers
All the best!
TMG supports externally hosted plugins right? I think it’s possible use a URL to request the file, instead bundle it inside the theme…
The market is something you can’t say with all the sure what will happen, I had items that didn’t sold more than 30 sales in the first month but it my best seller now, after 2 months in the marketplace.
I think we (authors) should expend more in get some expositions using our own methods, like blog, for example.
Each day buyers have more and more options to buy, what mean ThemeForest exposition alone won’t be the factor to sell in the near future.
Buyers are always looking to a reliable brand to buy and in ThemeForest, they can’t see it. I think the investiment in branding (blog, website) worth the results it can bring.
What you guys think about the relation between branding investiments and sales?
This is just normal, what we can do is try to “educate” these customers always being nice with they, maybe they see how they could write messages.
This is why you should keep up and never forget to be polite, maybe the customers will learn with you
All the best!
I’ll use it with all the sure
Maybe a solution is try something like this:
- Create a function that will run when theme is activated or when a Import Options button is used - Inside this, create a var that has your theme options array (try use get_option to get the array and a PHP debug function to get the values, for example) - Then, use the function update_option to change these values automatically.
It works with Options Framework, but don’t know about OptionTree. Probably the concept is the same.
Yeah, it’s how the things works here. I don’t know why disable without any alert, since bugs are normal in software, right?
I agree with the idea of charging a yearly price for updates and support – looks like is the trend to keep this kind of business working.
In the current way we need to always find new buyers – if we don’t release, we don’t earn too much (except if you are in Week Top Sellers) – this way we (authors) can’t just afford for updates and support because month after month the sales are becoming lower and lower but the tickets at support and update necessity keep normal or sometimes growing.
After a year of releases you’ll expend a lot of time updating and supporting items that already sold copies (let’s say 200 sales) – if each buyer pay 50% you’ll have about $3.5k ~ $4.5k back for you what can help the author keep updates and support.
The path we’re following will just saturate the marketplace with the same appearance files & old files that don’t worth support anymore.
Sure this should be added slowly, because the current way of business is too strong yet – but is something to keep in mind.
