Pretty hard to find session musicians which also have their own professional recording setup and willing to work remotely. Im sure some exist but specifically for cello, I have no idea! I would suggest trying LA scoring strings. Their first chair solo strings are quite good and certainly usable. Getting the articulations and expression right is a bit tricky but possible with a little effort.

Thanks! I’ll try them out in a music shop nearby, I hope they’ll have it there. Some video examples seem promising, especially this one, although I’d like to record some fast bach-like arpeggios which I’m afraid won’t easily sound natural.

Thanks again for replying :-)

Hello all!

I’d like to record some solo cello, but it’s hard to find a session musician/cellist in town for that and my home studio is not ideal for a recording like that I think.

Are there any remote session musicians available from websites for a low budget where you just send the notation and you get the recorded cello track(s) in return? Apart from googling around, I’d love to hear any suggestions or tips.

Thanks a lot.

To those who use Google+ and Facebook for promoting their items on the Envato marketplaces (so I’m not talking about personal profiles, but profiles which more or less have to do with your presence on the Envato marketplace that you’re a part of):

- Which one do you prefer and why?
- Do you think it has helped you build contacts and circles of interest such as multimedia authors, musicians, clients, etc?
- Have clients approached you through these social networks for custom work?
- Any more tips or info on that subject would be appreciated, as I am not a part of any of those two social networks, even for a personal profile (no, I don’t use FB).

Thanks for reading and a happy new year to you all! :-)

I’ve had that before, but I registered as a business. I think you just have to confirm all your details. I had a bit of a problem with my account because I confirmed everything with them and I still had the limit on my account so I contacted paypal and asked them to check my account and tell me what I needed to do and they got back to me saying everything was fine and lifted the limit.

Didn’t you have to upgrade your paypal account to premium/business after selecting business?

Thanks.

I got a notification on my PayPal Overview Page that I need to provide additional information because I’ve almost reached the limit of money I can withdraw from PayPal in a year.

I now have to even upload a National ID scanned document, a proof of address document, etc.

In the options where I had to say if I’m a business or a consumer, I put consumer.

Has anyone had this situation before with PayPal as an author? Did you list yourself as an individual consumer, or as a business? Is all this additional information request normal and happens to all authors?

Thanks in advance.

My total number of sales during December were fine, but yes I agree about the last 5-6 days, almost no sales, almost not even clicks. And I did the stupid thing of uploading a good fresh item of mine these days, not the best move. All in all it doesn’t surprise me though.

By “independent” do you mean non-exclusive? From this article I understand that you probably don’t go up when you have more sales, you stay at 33% (which to me is awful).
