You can use CHROME built-in Developer tool to do that and it works fine.
i’m using JSON … and build-in developer tool … doesn’t show me the return value of a specific request :(

I found the same, so I installed the FireBug and it worked just like the Firefox version… not sure which version you’re referring to with the ‘lite’ thing.

There is a jQuery function for toggling, http://api.jquery.com/toggle/ – this might be something you’ve overlooked perhaps?

There is simply no need to store some sort of serialized array, this is a simple case of just using bitwise operations (particularly the & operation.)

I think this is a good, and very simple, way to implement a binary private/public permission system.

This is a very common thing to do, I’ve had great success with NextGEN Gallery for Wordpress. Give it a try, there are many plugins for Wordpress to do this all for you.

This is very easy to accomplish with just jQuery, have a look at the jQuery documentation for slideDown().

If you need a hand, or someone to do it for you, then shoot me an email at andrew@wooshy.com :)
