If what I need is a stock footage item, I’m not going to buy a template instead, no matter how professional and huge it is. It’s just two different types of items for two different needs, so there’s no use comparing prices. And besides, other stock footage marketplaces have much crazier prices.

However, what I still believe is crazy is that there’s such a huge price gap between 1080p, 2K and 4K resolutions for stock footage and motion graphics. Here’s a request: a system similar to photodune where buyers can choose the resolution (from 720p to 4K if available) they NEED and pay accordingly… it must suck for a buyer to find a perfect video and having to pay 6x more for a 4K video, when all he needed was 1080p resolution.

Maybe if they were priced according to production value and not resolution.

At the moment, a 4K video of my own big toe will fetch a higher price than “the fleets collide” in 1080p.

You can make a 4K timelapse priced 30$ in few hours, and you can make AE template priced 12$ in a week.

That 4K resolution price (of a timelapse) is a biggest bullshit in the marketplace its loose loose loose for marketplace for authors and for buyers aswell. The price is so high that those 4K timelapses are bought very very few times in a year.. sometimes none…. And 4K timelapse is relatively easy to do, because its not native footage…. its actualy a timelapse – pictures sequenced into video… I would actualy agree if the actual native 4k footage shot with blackmagic or RED would cost 30$... but a timelapse ?? of a sky ?? ... sorry no… thats bullshit.

If 4k timelapse would be priced not just because its 4k but because of whats inside of it and how was it made, and the overall idea then ok the price could be 6$ – 30$.

I had to save money, dont buy new clothes and dont go to ibiza and to any trips, eat not luxury food, just to buy PC, hardware and software that were needed to do this job that you are asking us make for free. Now I can earn and live as I always wanted and do my beloved work.

yeah I had same idea, but you see the worth of those projects is very high because they are UNFINISHED. That means they are not spoiled, they can become anything. And I still think that best of my projects are still not uploaded and are the ones that are unfinished. I am just affraid to spoil them.

By the way how would you exchange them ? How would you know if they are equaly unfinished of finished enough ?
