Hello, For quite a long time I’ve been unsatisfied with my eCommerce. I am using Magento, currently migrating to OpenCart… But I think I’ll keep being unsatisfied. What I need to have in my website are the following: - eCommerce: Shopping Cart, Catalog, everything OpenCart or Magento has. - CMS: I need to create content pages (this is not the same as a Blog). What I need here is to be able to easily make pages including text, pictures, videos, etc. but with some sort of WYSIWYG so I can just go to the Dashboard and create a page (somewhat like in Wordpress). - Blog: Be able to install a Blog - Forums: Be able to have forums in the website, using the same login and password as for the shopping cart. (I’ve been trying to find bridges for OpenCart and phpBB or SMF, but have not found any solution).

That is practically it. Please recommend me what should I use and give me some tips where to look, where to start, etc.!

Thanks in advance!

Hello, I want a Forum implemented in my website: www.techmake.com and would really like it to look like part of the website. I found a mod that allows me to also register customers to OpenCart with a username, which I would like the forum to use. I want one login for everything. The forum software I’d like it to have the characteristics of Simple Machines Forums or phpBB. Anyone know of anything like this? Thanks.

Thank you very much Gravity, will research a lot (that’s what I’ve been doing) and will post soon to see if you or anyone else can help me out!

Thanks!

Everything is possible. Your budget, timeline, and ability will determine how far you can go to achieve it. I’ve never worked with any forum platforms, so I can’t suggest one in particular. Do your research before making any decisions is the best advice I can give.

Thank you very much for your reply Gravity I didn’t knew that Magento is funded by eBay and PayPal. About the forums, I would like them to be in the same site as everything else, just like ThemeForest, where I can easily click above in any of the categories and start shopping, or either click in Forums and start reading and posting. You think it can be done? They’ve recommended me http://www.invisionpower.com/apps/board/

Magento is a better option for a complex and content-rich site like you’re describing. The fact that it’s funded by eBay / PayPal and has a profitable Enterprise business means the platform isn’t going to disappear anytime soon. OpenCart just doesn’t have the same momentum or resources pushing it forward. Magento has CMS Pages built in, so you can create new content pages without coding. As for integrating a forum, I would just install a solid forum platform alongside Magento. You can easily link between them and the functionality you’ll have is far greater than any forum extension or integrator could provide.

I’ve had $6 in my balance for quite some time, and I’m looking around what to get from them ;) There’s always something useful you will find through the amazing products in any of the Envato websites!

Hello everyone, I have a business where I sell some electronic products, but I would like to implement forums for people to ask stuff and be answered by the staff and other users, and also create content pages where I can add tutorial articles with text, embedded videos, images, etc. for people to learn how to use the products.

I need my website to have basically these few things: 1) Store (Shopping Cart, products catalog) 2) Forums 3) Ability to let me write articles (content pages) as I want, with no need to go into coding (like a CMS ). 4) When they register and login, they can either purchase my products or write in the forums.

I’ve found a Magento theme that I really, really like, but I have not found out how to integrate a forum. I think I can create content pages too? My second best option theme is an OpenCart theme, but I have not found either how to integrate a forum. I also think I can create content pages here? I know I can use übercart and Drupal, but there are no good übercart themes plus the functionality of the shopping cart is not so good as Magento’s or OpenCart’s.

Can you guys tell me which one is better? Magento or OpenCart? Do you know how can I implement a forum and create content pages?

Thank you very much.

Hello, I like how OpenCart works, but is it possible to add a forum which allows the user to use the same account and password for both shopping and writing in the forums?

Thanks.

For some reason, the Adaptive Wordpress Theme has been taken out, I bought it a couple of months ago, now I don’t have any support :(

I am having some trouble, I believe in the home page I can put some images in the new posts, but when I set the featured image, it doesn’t appear. Here’s the link: http://alfareromty.com

Any ideas how to make the Recent Updates have the images?

Practically the title describes it all. Can those icons of the Piecemaker effect be taken off?
