I know exactly how you feel. I suppose though, that that’s the nature of design. I just try to create things that I enjoy, and if someone buys it then great. I don’t plan on quitting my day job anytime soon.

Yeah, there is a pretty steep learning curve for scripting Photoshop. Good luck with the actions! 
Creating different size-dependent actions is probably the easiest way to go about it. If you’re savvy in Javascript I would suggest writing a script to handle it. Scripts give you much more flexibility than actions do.

I know this doesn’t quite fit the theme of web-related resources, but I am suggesting that codecanyon should add a category for OS automation scripts such as Applescript and Automator Actions.
