Try with closing the theme switcher (or iframe).
I always close the theme switcher, so that’s not affecting it for me personally.
So – If we accept that Chrome has issues with Parallax themes, and some people are disabling it by default (particularly as Chrome is the no. 1 browser now), then why are they so popular? Seems like an awful trend?
Parallax themes are cool, they look great, but despite the fact I’m on the latest version of Chrome and using an extremely fast laptop, does anyone else find that 99% of them run like a dog?
So unfortunately, as much as I may like the theme itself, I’d never purchase it because the user will probably be on the receiving end of such an awful experience when visiting the site.
I hope this trend passes soon.
Or is it just me?
I’m working on a homepage redesign, which I’m fairly pleased with overall. But it’s just not quite right yet, and I can’t put my finger on what’s missing (or should be).
I wonder if you guys have any thoughts on what might make this design look & flow better?http://www.mytrialdomain.com/temp/screenshot-fw.jpg
Any comments at all welcome – don’t worry if it’s to tell me you hate it!
Edit: It’s only the top area by the way
I’ve always worked with fixed width pages as a personal preference, but recently the trend is to large fluid landing page-style designs, especially for homepages. So I’m thinking of jumping on the bandwagon and creating a really nice wide intro homepage (and retaining fixed with for the rest of the site).
The page will be responsive – however, what sort of max width should I be designing the content for? 1024px? larger? I’m honestly not sure what the best max is
Without the designer, your skills are completely redundant. You have nothing to code.
Therefore, the design element is worth significantly more than 5-10%. Gifted designers are a lot less common than great developers, that’s why they earn a bigger percentage vs the time spent developing/supporting.
I think TF may have a twin brother ^
He’s asked a perfectly legitimate question here – most of the top authors are male. It would be interesting to understand why.
Instead of trying to understand it, a load of people are just whining about his username. Some of you take yourselves far too seriously, lighten up.
If you need some inspiration what means “Quality” at the moment at TF you can have a look at those items: http://themeforest.net/user/woothemes/portfolio
Haha, well played sir.
Theme ‘quality standards’ can’t be talked about until all those themes are removed (I’m assuming they haven’t been).
I’ve got the superb Goodlayers wordpress theme Blue Diamond, however when used hand in hand with the ‘Q and A FAQ and Knowledge Base for WordPress’ plugin, the blog area on the homepage screws up. This is obviously a conflict between the 2 (disabling the plugin results in a fixed homepage), however, unfortunately I need the plugin – so I’m wondering if any clever person can figure out how to resolve the conflict?

Any help would be much appreciated.
