Steve Jobs never really answered why.

I noticed a lot of new files are not having the traction they once had way back when I started buying stuff here a few years ago.

I too figure if I am going to have to design websites then they need to work on iPads so I go for non flash items.

jQuery is fantastic…..because iPad needs to be catered for, I have decided to try and replace my falsh banners etc with jQuery items on my websites.

I notice that newer items on activeden are not selling as much as used to be the case…...maybe codecanyon is seeing more sales because of the switch.

To ignore iPad when designing is a huge mistake nowadays.

I notice that a lot of my favourite website designs (abc.com, nbc.com, cbs.com. wwe.com) have all chose to move away from Flash banners on their home pages.

I think it is sad iPads are making them move away from flash.

Ok guys I have a big problem.

I am designing a Quiz (with a different software program that isn’t Flash).

I want to get the Questions/Answers from an Access Database.

The final project is then exported as an .exe file. The program doesn’t include the Access file in the .exe file but puts it in the same folder beside it.

Here lies the problem.

How would I protect somebody accessing the Access database file and yet let it still be read by the program. A File lock security program won’t work.

The program also allows for a MySQL database to be used and the passwords to be held within the .exe file. However this would mean everyone I sell the game to would need MySQL on their computer so that is a non starter.

It has to be the Access Database route.

I seen a security program a few years ago where software programs are plased in a Viewer which shows the software but nobody can access…..it acts like a kind of wrapper.

I never saved that link but if I could find a similar one that gave a fullscreen version where it isn’t apparent to anyone viewing the Quiz then that would be ideal.

Does anyone have any ideas?

I bought this file and it is brilliant….best banner on AD.

I have asked this on the authors file but think it may get a quicker response here.

  • Have seen them on may other files and websites.

    Thanks in advance.

I am on the lookout for an encryption solution for FLVs on an Education Videos Website I am doing. I suppose this isn’t exactly what I need as it is the whole swf.

Back on Track…..I think Activeden is dying because of the success of the past.

There are a lot of great files on here but too many cr*p ones too.

The biggest problem they will have is that many of the people who spent a lot on this website have most of what they need now (News readers, Video Players, etc) so Files have to be really exceptional now to get my interest.

There are 2 ways to sell to the public – Gain New Customers or Sell More to existing Customers. Existing Customers like me are not biting.

I will also state for the 100th time that Licences prevent a lot of purchases too…...hands up anyone who has sold an Extended Licence?

Customers here buy for 3 reasons…..We are Too Lazy/Not enough time to learn Flash, Files are Great and they are CHEAP .

Nobody is going to buy a file with a one time use for 1k+....it just isn’t going to happen.
