Any file they reject is like throwing away free money. Who would ever throw away free money? There is no reason to reject any file that is uploaded. There are many good points in this thread, but to make everyone happy is quite near impossible. Lets just all be one big happy FlashDen Family!
Sorry but I have to disagree with you there, lets break it down. Low quality files sell less and are priced lower, high quality files sell more and are priced higher. Too many lower quality files push high quality files off the recent files lists sooner so therefore less exposure time for high quality files and less sales so by allowing too many lower quality files Flash Den is actually loosing out.
Well exactly my point! They aren’t going to start rejecting files. I would compare FlashDen to the google search engine. Everyone looks at the first query page and enters another query if they don’t see anything they like. To fix the quality issue all you have to do is show higher quality files where the most viewers show up…the main page. An easy solution would be to add another Recent tab which is displayed first on the main page with new files from Authors that have the top 2-3 colored badges. Yeah it hurts the new authors, but you have to earn your ranks somehow just like the other top authors.

I think the main issue is once your file gets pushed past the first page due to other uploads the number of sales that file gets decreases greatly. This is why I think so many of the old authors that had low quality files sale so many times is because everyday someone came to the site they would see that file. This is not the case anymore since the amount of users and uploaded files has grown dramatically. Someone stop the Tyranny!

Yeah, the pricing is off and always will be off, especially for the first time uploader. As long as the member base is growing at a rate of a 1,000 per day, no-one has anything to worry about. Lawsuits will take their tolls and we will see copyrights/license agreements for digital goods come and go. I’m really interested to see how they affect this site. WTB stock in envato PST !

Their site has gotten a few sales over the past week. Too bad they didn’t finish all the functionality on the site before they launched it.
