there are several reasons why youtube should be involved

• additional traffic coming from youtube: can be huge and it’s free
• we don’t sell static stuff here: screenshots are good for html templates but for animated content a video preview is much more effective
• landing page time is very short: you need capture visitor attention as fast as you can
• required bandwidth
• WP is out of question on my servers: i’m a sysadmin and i know what it means to keep it secure. I won’t have the time, so landing page should be hosted elsewhere (if someone willing to take care of this, it won’t be a problem for me)

however, landing page backend could also parse atom feeds or marketplace api so static images are still in but i do believe youtube strategy would be a much more effective way to invest our money.

im willing to host the site on my mediatemple server if needed, email me and we can discuss details.

If you expect users to upload content of such high quality that unity is capable of, then the least you can do is show them how much/little it will be valued at.

stupid thread, featured files are files that are different/unique/exceptional – not the best sellers, thats kinda the purpose of the popular items page, no?

Also, dont say things like my file ‘is clearly a much better and cooler item’ as it just makes you seem arrogant and quite frankly a little like a spoilt brat.

Try something along the lines of this…

Off the top of my head that should work, or at least get you on your way
