So the real question is if Envato will accept an exclusive item that has already been distributed elsewhere. I think it depends on the type of distribution, if you gave away a few copies to your friends or if you shared it on torrents, there is a big difference. Then there is the question if that distribution is still ongoing when you submit that item for review. There is too many nuances to find a clear answer around here – unless any sharing whatsoever is prohibited. So I think you need to ask support and explain your case in detail.

I would also suggest adding something like this directly to your theme:

and make it link to an online hosted documentation.

freshface saidTrue that. But again, most of them offer a customization work. So, guy offernig the work buys the theme/template from tf (or elsewhere) and customize it. He gets low money for eazy stuff, we get money from sales and customer get customized website so he doesn’t have to bother with it. It’s a win-win situation – that’s the original idea behind microlancer (or at least was)
aleluja saidAccording to that banner, I just learned “web design from $20” ... Now that must be quite confusing for web beginners imo. It’s also, at least, puzzling for those who don’t know what microlancer is

It’s the context and message that bothers me. It got a top banner position, pastel colors, oversimplified confusing information, sense of a (cheaper) competition and all that.
What would make more sense would be something like Envato did to the Dreamhost ads. Not only it could be placed in the Downloads section, but it could also be placed on an item page sidebar and simply say “need a customization?” “find a freelancer on microlancer” or something like that. With the author being able to turn that ad off from his portfolio if he already offers customizations. This could make more sense to visitors, have better conversion, ability to opt-out for authors so it would not compete with the author’s work (you can buy icons here and on microlancer for example) and would be less aggressive if the banner is low profile.
But hey, if Envato releases a brand new and cool site and wants to spread the word more aggressively, let them have it – I just hope it won’t stay there long. A few days sounds about right in my opinion, as a celebration

Way to go Justin and the dev team, is it just me or is there a new energy shining from the inside of Envato?
Can’t wait for all the new features, keep it up.

It’s simple. Degree without job experience is useless in almost all disciplines ( doesn’t count the strictly technical like construction, architecture, chemistry, medicine and other ). From my POV I would prefer as a designer guy with experience and results. Degree would not influence me a lot.
Anyway finishing the school is important too, since it’s opening you a lot of options in a future. Because after while your classmates will get a job experience and they will be in better position than you. They will have degree + experience, you will only have experience.
Also I won’t trust anyone that school is too hard to do when working. Actually I’m in 7% worst students at my uni and investing approx 40 – 100 hours per year to achieve this.

Hi there!
I’m sorry for late response, I don’t visit this forum often, so I might miss your post. For future support requests please use comments on the item page, we are checking them few times per day.
Anyway your problem could be solved by uploading unzipped theme package into the wp-content/themes folder directly. Please make sure that you are uploading the theme only, not the whole package
thanks and cheers, freshface
