I like your theme, but it does need something there to make it stand out.

Maybe you could look at the way you have the layout, or possibly the background colour, just something that makes it stand out

I like it – I agree with the reviewer that it has great potential. I am in no way a coder of the standard of some of the authors here so am not really in a place to comment deeply but it would be cool in any theme not just this one to see something ultra unqiue for the blogs and gallery.

Well, yeah, those parts are too generic. There were lots of talks about themes becoming too generic in design, many of them having minimal differences between them. People complained about that.
I can’t find anything too unique about your theme. Seem to be fine technically… but they need you to be more creative in design.

Thanks for Your opinion! I agree that more and more themes are starting to look similar these days. I’ll try to think of something more unique with blog and portfolio sections design.

Yesterday I tried to submit my site template – http://themes.fundje.com/anchors-html-demo/ and the reply was :

“Your item Anchors – Clean Portfolio and Business Template isn’t quite ready for ThemeForest. This is the reason given by our item inspector:

This is a fantastic start and shows lots of promise.

The main issue here is the genericness of the blog and portfolio sections. Can you give this another go, with some unique layouts?”

I want to know Your opinion about that statement that blog and portfolio sections are too generic. Your suggestions and comments would be really appreciated.

Overall I really like it, and fingers crossed it will do well on TF. I know TF are starting to limit minimal / light designs, but I think this has enough character to get accepted.

A few gripes:

The buttons – Are we flat or 3D? Personally, I would prefer to see them flat and a different colour on hover.

The icons used on the ‘For both deskop and mobile’ – The grey is almost too faint, and creates a void.

The social icons in the footer, I would prefer to see in a 3×2 formation, the same height as the last tweet. Again, I presume you never know the tweet height, so maybe a pain to do

Apart from that, I really like it. Clean, light, but the highlight of blue just pulls it together…

Oh and a fixed header, have you been looking at my screen?

First some things I like: - the small (outline) symbols in the slider - colors - clean style - typography - :hover-effect

Some things I don’t like that much: - rollIn effect in the slider (people rolling in looks kind of weired.) - the slider nav below. is it for the uppper slider or the slider below it? (I think it’s for the big one, the other one has a nav too, but in connection with the down arrow it’s kind of confusing. - the many columns in the “For both deskop and mobile”-section. I think that’s a bit overkill here. I’d reduce it to two columns and stick to the 3 columns in the portfolio. In my opinion is looks kind of too griddy

All in all I like the design and if you make some small adjustments it’ll be a nice first theme. let me know when it’s finished
