I can see you are picking up fast. However, for this design, the brush effect around the circle seems distracting. Try use a more organic shape; i suggest like a diamond, semicircle, etc. The 2 white lines on the black background looks weird. I understand that you want to come out with something unique but it doesn’t blend very well with the overall design.
The type doesn’t revolve uniformly against the circular orientation. This makes it looks unbalance. In addition to that, give the text a bit of breathing space against the circle line.
Just my 2c.
Having uppercase for a paragraph of information surely makes it hard to read. For me, uppercase is definitely more appealing if it is for a bit of wordings. It makes the wordings more balance in terms of the height. More neat in a way.
I don’t really think its the background problem. I am guessing that they find your design too basic and is looking for something more different. Probably you have to find ways to make it more unique like adding shapes or having a different layout placement and stuff.
Ya some weird minor glitch. Hope they fix it soon.
glenngoh saidI don’t see tags on the screenshot that you posted. All I see is what’s included in the file.
Is this some kind of bug? The keywords are repeated. I notice it only happen to the recent accepted files.
Ya the keywords for the graphic files included is what I mean. There are like 2 of each keywords.
Maybe you can try replacing the house with a map pointer instead. Looks more sleek and up to date design in my opinion
The concept is interesting but the execution isn’t really that appealing.
Firstly, the line-height between the info is kinda inconsistent. I can see that you are trying to extend the line of the barcode as the underline of the text. However, it will be better if the line-height is consistent. On top of that, the endpoint of the line is also inconsistent as well. I will suggest fixing it to a standard endpoint.
Secondly, the blue in the word John don’t really blend with the general red color theme.
Thirdly, try to lessen the effect you play on the business card. I see you use outer glow for the scanline, gradient overlay and drop shadow for the text. Sometime less is more.
Lastly, probably you can reduce the opacity of the pattern in the background as it is kinda too distinctive. Keep it subtle.
Need a better font. Scriptina don’t work very well here. Probably you should stick to one font instead of two different fonts. I will suggest ballpark weiner. Probably you can also try to use a more vibrant colors. Colors that will stand out more. Just my 2c.
