davidossahdez: Thanks for the useful information!

Here’s something that really intrigues me, by linking Source text properties only the actual text gets linked. Is there a way to link the font selection / kerning as well?

This always kept me away from linking Source text, once the user modified the kerning and font selection in one layer it would only “transfer” the actual text thus leaving the user in a “complex” situation incase he modified the font / kerning / paragraph properties .

My video is an After Effects Trapcode form application of Hollywood Camera Works Hot moves DVD. That’s what I aimed for to begin with and thats the final result. Almost all of the the dynamics of this project are based on Camera moves/Lens angles they teach of on those DVDs.

Choosing a Telescopic Lens in AE to Pivot around the Form Landscape on 0:21 – 0:23 is an example, but the entire project was driven behind this logic, I have seen the other project in the past but didn’t think it was anything similar . (No aerial helicopter shots, no long fly throughs, etc…)

Perhaps thats why some might think its better or more “elegant”, either way, it’s an entirely different idea / project. If you ever get a chance to see Hollywood Camera Works Hot moves – you’ll see the EXACT moves & theories they’re talking of – This time, applied into a Trapcode form environment. That’s the entire source of inspiration, the root and the fruit of this project.

Either way, it’s got absolutely nothing to do with the project its constantly compared to other than the fact I’ve made the mistake of using the same placeholders in the initial preview therefore creating something too similar. I hoped people could see beyond the choice of placeholders and background color, that the difference in the dynamics and camera moves would speak for itself. Had I known those 2 weeks of fun intense process would end up this way I would’ve never bothered.
This marketplace means a great deal for me, and no project in the world is worth risking it for, even if you actually tried to bring something new and original to the table.
Peace & Love
P.S Really Sorry everyone, could we possibly move on, start a blank page or just delete this one? (thread)

@GrizzleFX: Advice taken. Loving Envato too much here to even think about being locked out of the party. Just have to focus on making the next puppy a truly outstanding one.

@TrooperFX, Balistique and Maupa

The original file was soft rejected and I resubmitted the preview that is shown. I’m not presenting false information, the response I received and the wording from the reviewer where in regards to this updated preview, AFTER the file has been updated.
Now , I used the same social icon pack(the only decent one thats available to use), and a blue background in the original version because I think it sells better. Is that a crime? If so, I admit.
Gray gradient or orange in the background combined with the dark Envato marketplace logos just dont do it for me as much as Colorful social icons and a corporate blue background
Eventually the item is there because of the dynamics, the camera moves, the edit, the music, the animation. Its more than just an empty project with a plugin, icon pack and a background, and if you can look beyond that – its clearly not plagiarism.
By the way, the original project I ripped off from has Skype, Yahoo! and Microsoft logos in its preview which I was not dumb enough to copy – Guess people were too busy spotting plagiarism they missed that part .

Dear Mark.
I’ve tried to discuss this with support by replying to a ticket, and the answer I got was as follows:
Hey Johnathan, The claims brought to us were verified and found valid by our review team. It was decided that your item remain disabled but your account remain active so you are welcome to submit new work. Kind Regards, ** *, Envato Support Department

The fact that my account was at stake here only for using the same plugin, the same free set of social icons and a light blue gradient – scares me just about enough for me to keep my mouth shut, Envato gave me a great opportunity, its too much to risk here.

perhaps I got a bit too emotional, two weeks of work only to be accused and called a ripoff can do that to you… Whining is now officially done. ;)

Hi. I’ve just had a file removed due to the following additional feedback: “This file is found to be a blatant and obvious rip off of one of VH’s better selling files and it has to be disabled. You’re not allowed to edit or resubmit it. Support team will get in touch with you shortly with an official warning.”
They’re accusing this file which can be seen here: https://vimeo.com/57594384 To be a ripoff of this one: http://videohive.net/item/the-social-media-network/488813

Now, I’ve given up on the idea of trying to prove my point. If people are gonna hate and think I ripped it off, go ahead, its your right to think what you want.
But to call my craft a blatant ripoff behind an official Envato email is a bit harsh, not so sensitive , and definitely an insult.
And to you brave man/reviewer who accuses me of ripping off behind an anonymous email address – Just wanted to let you know, that a very small tiny part of that salary Envato is paying you is thanks to my “Blatant rip offs”
