Thanks for your replies, guys. I’ve never really used fireworks, to be honest. I think for now I’ll stick with my old ways :)

I’ve been using photoshop for years, but I’ve never found an easy solution for this:

I have a number of slices that I wish to save for web as transparent png files (for example a button with rounded corners). I’m working from a complete design in one psd file, so there’s a lot of background material. Now, to export the slices I always hide all underlying slices, but that’s highly inconvenient. Am I overlooking something? Is there no easier way (for example: apply a slice to only a number of layers?)

Thanks!

your templates were just psd or html ?
All PSD submittions, most of the designs were asked to be put into HTML but I would rather just design PSD ’s instead :D
Well then that’s why… PSDs require top notch quality in order to get accepted. With HTML /WP/etc it’s a little “easier” :)
This is what leads me to ask why was my first PSD template submition accepted when I personally think my later submitions were better…

I think your first one is better

By the way I have another question: in the upload form there’s no field to select the preview image (not the thumb but the 590×300 px for the description page). Where should I upload that?

If you are unsure about why they rejected your template there’s a possibility to reply to the reviewer.

I know, I have :) no response yet. I thought I might as well ask you guys.

Thanks for the replies.

I didn’t know about Cu3er. Might as well take it out then. Anyway, that couldn’t be the reason because this is what it said in the email:

We're sorry, your item Arctic - Creative Portfolio HTML Template has not been approved for sale on ThemeForest. This is the reason given by our item inspector:

This File Did Not Meet Our Criteria

Thanks so much for taking the time to submit this template. Unfortunately, due to our high standards, your template has been declined.

Your template does not provide a unique enough design with the necessary design quality, features and options to compete in the marketplace at this time. As higher quality templates become available in the marketplace, approval requirements will increase to maintain appropriate marketplace quality.

You might consider improving your design with more unique features and graphics in order for it to stand out among other marketplace items. Adding features, options and styles will help increase your template's value and increase its ability to be approved. However, a unique design will be a key factor for approval.

Hey guys.

I’ve been active on ActiveDen for years now, and I decided to try out themeforest. So I uploaded this site template a few days ago but it got back rejected, saying it does not meet the quality standards.

Now I do think the quality of the design itself is high enough, so there must be something else. I’m not complaining, I understand rejecting files needs to be done and all, but it would be nice if the approver would give a bit more information on what’s wrong.

So can you guys give me some advise on how to improve my file?

Thanks!

Hi there,

I’m about to upload a site template, but I’ve never uploaded anything to ThemeForest before. So, I was reading the upload instructions and it says something about uploading preview files because envato may host them at a later stage(?). Now it says i should zip up my files and name them ‘in the order I want them to appear (1.html, 2.html etc). What the hell does this mean? I mean, my files are named index, portfolio, contact etc, I can’t just change these.

Am I missing something?

Thanks!

same here, especially interested in buying Mac in USD , but I guess that won’t be possible since apple has a separate euro-store.
