@kailoon, please help me out. I had no idea IE8 was required, so I made this site especially for new browsers, so this IE8 thing is killing me. What are the most important things to fix for it to be approved? (aside from the grid, of course).
I tested Safari 5.1.7, the grid breaks because it doesn’t support CSS calc(), but it doesn’t crash. The grid will fallback to percentages, but I cannot figure out what causes the crash without a Mac.
I use Windows, and don’t have access to any Macs, so I can’t test it on Safari. I’m sorry to hear it crashes it, but I have no way of troubleshooting it.
@kriskorn The whole website was built for new browsers, no support meant for IE < 9 at all. And I see other items which don’t support IE8 any more than mine.
EDIT: I’m sorry, I see now I claimed it is “responsive on all screen sizes” and forgot to mention it only goes as low as 460px wide, so that is my mistake. I will rectify that claim. However, the IE8 issue still stands.
My item got soft rejected, one of the reason being that it needs to be IE8 compatible. The problem is, that’s impossible, I’d have to scrap months of work and remake most of it without using CSS3, because IE8 doesn’t support new technologies. Why not take advantage these new technologies because older browsers don’t support them? Also, I see other items which don’t work on IE8 on TF.
Another reason was that it didn’t work on mobiles/tablets. I only have an iPhone, and when I tested, the same problem: it doesn’t support some of the code used.
Is mobile/tablet support required? I always thought it was a feature, and I would love to have it, but I can’t help it if older or mobile browsers do not support some technologies which I have no way to recreate for them.
I think it is a very good template, and works brilliantly on new browsers. I put the minimum browser versions in the description, and didn’t flaunt having mobile/tablet support when I did not. Why is it a problem, then? It’s up to the client, if he has a supported browser, he can buy it, and if not he’ll know not to buy it.
I don’t mean to come off as aggressive or insulting, but that rejection e-mail made me sadder than I’ve been in many years. I’ve never worked so hard on anything in my life, and today I see it rejected because of something that shouldn’t be required.
I fit into your definition of introvert almost perfectly. I like likable people, and I think they like my company, but most of the times prefer to be alone, and enjoy the finer things in life. I am, of course, talking about watching cat videos and browsing reddit. Occasionally, some strange, unpredictable force makes me do some work too.
WHy people use reddit, what are the main benefits from reddit.
The benefits are, you find very interesting stuff, news, and people. Even Pres. Obama had an AMA (the users asked questions and he responded). Also, it kills time. Downside is, that time could be used to create websites .
It’s really subjective. I got an iPhone 4 a month ago, and I’m pretty happy with it. It does everything I would want from a phone, and enables me to develop for iOS and Retina. But if I had to choose from the iPhone 5 and Galaxy S3, I’d go with Galaxy S3.
