You could define the inner function as a named function I think:

You’re proposing a crazy amount of policing; think about it some more and you’ll realize it’s not sustainable. I’d focus on improving your skills and developing higher quality items to get more sales instead.
Compared to most rejection emails, you were given quite specific tips for improvement.
The 1st thing that hit me when I visited your demo was the lack of color contrast. You also need more variation in your typography, that narrow font overpowers your design currently.
If you want to keep it, I suggest at least using it in bold for certain areas. Maybe in all caps / small caps for the headlines, you’ll have to try various combinations.
2nd, the layout has unfortunately been done to death. If you browse the WP themes category, you’ll find many similar themes, probably increasingly slow on sales. I’ve trashed 2 layouts so far because I didn’t feel I was able to come up with something sufficiently different and with broad appeal.
I’d suggest either adding improvement or starting on another layout and porting the php code over.
PS: Getting a knack for good typography is pretty hard if you’re not a natural talent or haven’t been designing for a very long time. I find it very useful to browse font foundry websites and take a look at their type specimens, some are very well crafted and can teach you a lot.
Try the pdf guides from here for starters, might give you some inspiration on what can be improved:

From what I observe in this thread, some of you want the standards increased just because your so awesome theme might get lost because so many themes get accepted everyday and you won’t make the desired $$$... If the theme has the ideal balance between features and great design, it will stand out of the crowd.
A bit too arogant, don’t you think?
I was just thinking about this yesterday.
Too many new themes are accepted, a lot of them don’t look that great at all.
A potentially really good theme can get ‘lost’ between so many other themes, simply because a buyer might get tired of browsing around and decide to settle on the next best one.
Google for ‘server administration services’. There are quite a few companies offering server admin services, either based on a monthly subscription or on a per need basis / one-time deal.
I suggest searching for reviews as well before settling on a particular one. I’ve used several in the past myself whenever I had major problems I couldn’t deal with myself.

It’s nice to see that Envato is providing tools to authors to make theme development easier and quicker but these tools/plugins need constant updates in order to work with latest versions of WordPress so sometimes author get into a locked down position which is not good. For example OptionTree hasn’t been upgraded to work with WordPress 3.3.1 and if you see the “Compatibility” section for OptionTree plugin then 50% of the people are having trouble installing it with WordPress 3.3.1.
I never saw the Compatibility section as accurate, for any plugin.
I’m developing a theme right now on OptionTree and WP 3 .3.1 with no issues at all. I suggest trying it for yourself. Furthermore, I saw no mentions of any compatibility issues in the corresponding forum here http://wordpress.org/tags/option-tree?forum_id=10
I’d think if there were real issues, people would’ve flooded that forum with complains already.
Will the Dev Team finally add SSL ? I still can’t believe this has been ignored for so long and instead eye-candy has took priority instead of security.
I think Envato should really consider introducing SSL asap and/or other authentication schemes, like 2-factor for instance. Get a partnership with Yubico for the YubiKey maybe, make it optional of course and let authors select it for added security.
Some of the authors here make big money, not having SSL yet is a disaster waiting to happen. I just had a security breach on an account that was supposed to be pretty safe.
Not introducing SSL used to be motivated by the extra resources required for this, but this is 2011 and there are no plausible excuses left anymore.
Envato, get with the rest of the world and add SSL . It’s not important that withdrawals for instance are not processed instantly and that theoretically someone would have time to realize they’ve been compromised and notify support, I don’t think any author would want someone unauthorized snooping around in their account and confidential data.
What type of server? Windows or Linux? If you have cPanel it’s worth taking a look at the server logs.
Another thing you can try, install XAMPP or similar on your home computer, together with wordpress, if the theme(s) work there but not on your webhosting account, it’s either because of permission errors or something else your webhost might have turned off.
