Our latest theme which includes the mentioned code was held for a few days because of it. It was ultimately confirmed by the review team that it can be used and the theme was approved as is.

And by the way page builders use short codes as their core way of working.
That’s not true in general, ours don’t and i’m pretty we’re not the only ones using metas to save builder data.

Well, we got used to spam in the item comments section but the weird thing this time was that user offering to sell our own item for half the price in its comment area

Applications are still being accepted.

This is a full-time position and is hence not suitable for freelancers looking to supplement their existing clients list or out-sourcing teams/companies.

You should never put your programmer handle the support too, not just for WP, but in pretty much any software business. He is just wasting time that he should spend doing his work. 70% of the support questions are simple questions that can be solved with some Googling or by someone with minimal technical knowledge. You should always try to have the so called ‘front-liners’ i.e. the support that is there to solve these basic questions while some critical bugs and issues will be forwarded to the programmers.

A good amount of support queries we receive require an in depth knowledge of theme development and hence only a theme dev can answer them. We have others looking after the “how do I change this color” sort of questions.

Additionally, sometimes when we have a deluge of support to handle, we expect all team members to help out, which is why it’s mentioned in the job description.

But thanks anyway.

Each case would be different and would depend on relevant skill set and experience.

I dont think the rules are there for plugins within your theme folder.

I think the plugins have to go within the wp_content/plugins folder

Maybe wrong though but thats my grasp on this.
Only the zips are in theme folder so you can bundle them with your theme but, once installed, they would go in wp-content/plugins like any other plugin from wp.org.
