Hey everyone!Letting you know we’ve just released the Envato WordPress Toolkit plugin v1.4 (just the plugin, not the library, at this stage).
Version 1.4 adds support for theme backups during a automated theme upgrade. This backup functionality can also be turned off from within the UI.
This is an effort to address the concerns people have raised about customisations being lost during an automated theme upgrade. Now, when a user initiates an upgrade from the Envato WordPress Toolkit, the existing theme is backed up to the
We hope you love this improvement on the plugin/wp-content/envato-backups/directory first. A link is then provided on the Envato WordPress Toolkit page to download that backup ZIP file if the user should need it.![]()
A question: does plugin need a user API key to work properly (fetch data from envato)? Wouldn’t be a better idea to use purchase code, I think this is easier for buyers to find than API key.
Thoughts?

Thanks. For sure NOT looking for 24×7x365 support, understandable based on the pricing, but theme should work without having to debug or look at replacing function with another widget/plug-in
Offcourse. Otherwise it won’t be accepted here.

Hello All, I am working on a responsive theme to be sold on TF and I will like to know what the standards is with IE 7 , IE 8 and any other browser that does not support media query. Should the theme also be responsive on this browsers or what ?

duotive saidI’m also wondering the same thing about 40$ price for a specific theme!
And i do not know how you price some themes that cannot do anything. Just like free themes. Change a color or two and the layout is exactly the same. So why the 40$ price tag? For what?
Yes, that one is crap if you ask me. If that design was done by some anonymous (new author), it would be rejected, I’m 100% sure. Now it’s priced at $40. C’mon…
This won’t be accepted because there are 246987098 themes already on marketplace very similar to this one.

For myself, I’ve had 4 WP themes rejected, but here is the interesting thing….I sell them on my own website and actually making more than the newer authors are making here, so again, where is the incentive for authors now… Before it wasn’t the case…such as trying to catch up to Kriesi was and is still impossibleYou got in the right time, lol.
Off-topic: Just checked out your themes, IMHO , Biosphere, for example, is much much better than most of the crap they approved recently.

DoubleX saidI have to disagree.
The only products from HP which I can recommend are their printers.HP is the king of planned obsolescence. My OfficeJet died last year and after some googling I found that they have chips built-in that makes them unusable after 5 years.
If you call HP Support they ask you to buy a new one. I had the guts to fix it myself. I opened my printer and unplugged the wifi card which resetted the whole thing and it works again without spending a cent. I even plugged my router to it and have again wifi printing over my place.
Kiss me, HP.
Unbelievable… scumbags

Sorry for being super dim, and in my case perhaps you might be right rvision, and they aren’t quite this ‘idiot proof’!
I wasn’t reffering to you, offcourse. And I understand your confusion and it is valid one.
For me, using WP as a “CMS” is still like hammering square pegs into round holes. So, each theme author has it’s own ways to do this and therefore you have such differences when working with themes from different authors. There is no “official” way of doing things.
