The system infrastructure for manufacturing, storing, and internationally distributing hard goods is much more complicated than just setting up an ecommerce site :) It may well be that such a system wouldn’t be profitable/worth the investment for Envato.

Not saying I wouldn’t like to see it happen, but I’m guessing Envato has better prospects for turning a profit than selling t-shirts, so it probably isn’t too high on the priority list :)

This is exactly why we shouldn’t be bundling plugins in with theme packages. Because when you distribute code with your theme, it becomes part of your product, and you do take on responsibility for that code.

Instead, themes authors should be able to recommend compatible plugins in a structured way, which customers can purchase individually – or as a discounted bundle with the theme (the revenue from which would be shared between theme and plugin author), but still obtain licenses for individual plugins.

The current system is just a race to stash the most premium plugins in a theme, and everyone loses.

Whoa – did you get licensing from Envato to use their logo and trademark?

And did you get permission from staff to advertise on the forums?

You never actually defined/initialized $html before accessing it. Just add

$html = '';

before your if statement and you should be good to go

(the warning message actually tells you exactly what is going on: the variable, $html, which is used in those lines indicated, has not been defined – you just need to define it before you use it)

Any chance what’s actually going on is that they’re copying the text out of the email alert, which would likely contain plaintext of whatever you posted in the content (therefore including the HTML tags)?

That sucks – some people just don’t get it and/or don’t have a conscience about these things. I feel your pain, having been in similar situations before. It’s incredibly frustrating.

Regardless, it is against the community guidelines to call out other authors/products in the forum – this just isn’t the right place for it. So I’m going to lock this up.

Like you said, you’ve submitted a ticket to support, so they’ll deal with it through that channel – good luck! :)

EDIT: aaaaaand Travis beat me to it ;)

For your reference: http://notes.envato.com/general/extended-license-changes-part-1/

I’d suggest you contact the author and explain that you made a mistake and ask them for permission to distribute. Ask them if there is an additional licensing cost that you can pay to be able to use it.

If they say yes, you’re good to go.

If they say no, offer to pay them for the number of copies you’ve distributed and remove it from your theme as soon as possible.

I agree. Since I don’t want this showing up, I tend to just edit my comment and writing -deleted- or -duplicate- or whatnot to avoid the “inappropriate” message, which isn’t ideal.

Also, maybe just being able to delete our own item comments within 60 seconds or so would be good. I’ve been experiencing issues with the comments system with double posting as well as posting properly but not doing the AJAX-refresh, so the comment ends up being posted twice upon the second submit.

I think the message should still be altered as GravityDept suggested to make it neutral, but adding a limited-time delete option would also be useful so we don’t have to self-flag comments when mistakes are made.

Personally, I need reminding every 15 minutes about where I can get the best kitchen renovation, so I find it very useful.

You can’t animate display:none; to display:block; with CSS3 transitions.
