Unfortunately, that’s the only way. I guess only top 20 authors or so can make a decent living from AJ sales. Rest of us need to look at it as pocket money or look for other opportunities outside AJ.

As a newbie, you join audiojungle and say “I make money with my music, I’m so happy!” Then you invest a lot of time and money and two years later you say “I can’t make money with my music, i’m so screwed!” That’s our problem. I’m in the same boat as well

The cold hard truth is you either expect to be as good as soundroll or be content with where you are.

Each year it’s getting harder to sell regular underscore type of music with no distinctive feature even if it’s produced with best quality.

I wouldn’t recommend paid promotion (adwords, etc.) but you can try youtube.

I’ve just seen the announcement and opted back in as well. Yet I still don’t understand why envato is trying to create a conformable license set which will respond to the needs of all marketplaces. To me, each marketplace should have its own licensing terms.

Instead of price increase why don’t we have a price calculation tool based on who you are (student, small business, corporation, etc.) and where you’re going to use the music (website, radio, national tv, etc). Small guys can still license at $14. Nobody would loose anything.

So why don’t we have something like that yet? Maybe it’s the same reason why there isn’t a shopping cart. If Envato isn’t making enough money to hire developers to implement these basic changes, it further validates the need for such a change.

I used Fl Studio before and right now i’m in the process of switching to Ableton Live and wondering why I didn’t do it before! The reasons led me to switch my DAW were mostly about recording.

First, time correction is not a probem with Ableton. I has a nice warping algorithm so your first take is usually in time with the tempo. If you’re not satisfied with a certain part of your recording you don’t need to start over, just place marks around the section and it will allow you to insert a section there easily.

Secondly, you don’t have to start mixing right at the beginng. Just fool around and record and sequence a lot of segments, try them against each other and when you think you are onto something you can start arranging. It allows more room for creativity.

Thirdly, clean up! When fooling around with recordings you don’t have to worry about filling your hard drive with lots of unused wave files. It has nice project management options so you can delete unused data easily when you’re finished.

I don’t know if these functions are available in the other DAWs but Fl Studio certainly sucked on this front.

I’m more interested in the “awakening” part. So let’s look at the disturbances. The most important thing that happened close to this date was the Sandy Hook shooting. Now look at this interview of a victim’s father:

As a whole this video is totally disturbing to me. (And the spam commenter talking about aliens talking to him through car tires is disturbing on a personal level).

My theory is this (but i’m not claiming anything):

People fear aliens and this fear prevents aliens making direct contact with us. 2012 is a timeframe they thought humanity will be ready for this. Because if they do it prematurely our insecure leaders will try to nuke them, causing a worldwide catastrophe aka the end of the world. In the meantime, these insecure leaders try hard to spread disinfo that these “reptilians will eat your brains”. Basically these leaders want us to fear so they can keep their power over us.

So maybe fear will overcome and contact will be postponed, maybe not

Recently it hit me that the things we automaticly label as “ridiculous” is the result of our conditioning. When someone talks about “reptilians” for example we automatically want to mock it without thinking.

We have these mysterious buildings called pyramids, we have ancient cultures mentioning “gods” coming from sky, we have ufo phenomenon and these things feel “normal” to a degree. But when someone says that “they” are among us we mock it because it is not “normal”, because we are programmed to mock that possibility although it is probably the only theory that makes sense. Most people believe ufos but wonder why they don’t make contact? Maybe they already do contact us in an “avatar” fashion since the beginning of the civilization

Regarding december 21 soon we’ll see if something happens. But I want to tell you guys something else. If you remember there was a theory that aliens would make contact during London Oliympics and nothing happened, right? Guess what, I have a family member who lives in London claims to speak with aliens during that time. Not through telepathy or in a dream, through their television tuning in to a frequency and aliens talking to them through the speakers of their turned off TV. Sounds crazy but I saw their ufo footage.

So maybe nothing will happen or something will happen to some people. Better to remain open minded.
