I find it is generally very easy to irritate people online and I would like to remind people to a. stay postive b. have a thick skin c. don’t give attention to situations you feel are inappopriate.
point a. includes those ‘feel good virtues’ like courtesy and politness even if you disagree with the message. This will greatly enhance the generaly vibe on the FD forums.
Sometimes we get it wrong and we will take author’s views into consideration – send a message via the support form. Also if a file sells particularly well then we are likely to increase its price slightly. You can get an idea of the prices simply looking through the items currently available.
@seifip – True, but it can’t run on air.
The job board is free to advertise on – so there is a stream of new jobs directed at Freelancers. We were going to charge the advertiser but that would have meant that jobs would slowly decrease and the board would have had to come down.
Hopefully $7 is low enough that you recover the cost in terms of the work you get. Of course everyone can/should/does advertise jobs here as well. I am just looking out for the job board as well…
Support/Assistance/Freelance Customisation etc are all clearly good things that I think we all agree should be encouraged.
I was particularly referring to someone sending emails to flashden members with a large list of items (belonging to many prominent authors) which they are then using to swap for new items. i.e. They are redistributing your files.
Hi Flashden denizens, Collis, Jun and I discussed the following matter and thought it best to let everyone know about the situation: Sadly, we have received several reports from our members that there is a person attempting to swap/trade flashden items directly via E-mail. We don’t think flashden authors will loose much, if any, revenue because the majority of buyers are very honorable; however it is the principle that matters. It’s very frustrating to see your copyright being infringed. So, if anyone else is contacted please do let us know (contact support and preferably do NOT post details on the forums) so that we can try and follow it up.
