That is tough. I guess they are looking for more “design aesthetics” more than anything. Personally I do not think its too bad – maybe liven up the logo space a little, the pagiation on the home page looks a bit lost, the footer you could hide using jquery perhaps (just throwing ideas up!).
There is quite a lot of white space throughout. I do sort of see what they mean. It has all the bits and code looks clean etc I guess it just needs to be “All bought together” through design.
I agree with you , gonna try one more time .. Thanks for feedback and tips .
Post a link too in case anyone has any useful feedback including the soft reject message you got
Hi , The message was “Unfortunately your submission Blogget Minimal Blog Theme isn’t quite ready for ThemeForest. Additionally, we have some extra feedback for you: The content area and inner pages are pretty generic and plain, and it will need more imaginations. About, archives and contact pages required more imagination. We are not asking for more features, more shortcodes or more content. We are asking for a more complete, comprehensive themes rather than a basic, simplicity, plain theme.”
And here’s the live demo
That’s supposed to be minimal blog theme .. and if the reviewer think it just a simple , plain theme and not good enough for TF , why did i got soft-rejection ? That’s confusing .
Hi , My theme got soft rejected for like 5 times , i deleted the theme and redesigned it again , re-upload , and i got the same soft-rejection message .. i need a feedback from the reviewer , more explanation .
I submitted a ticket 2 days ago and no answer yet .. can i contact the reviewer directly via his profile page / email ?
hmm , i think a bit of imagination should slightly change the structure of the site, I do not mean to redesign the entire site but add some things into the design to make it look more unique , you already have features , yes is weird do not know where to start
This is exactly the problem , the reviewer didn’t give anything to start with , i asked him if i should do more design enhancements or should i add more content , and no clear answer
Will do more design enhancements and try again . Thanks for feedback .
is awesome , reviewer said “We are asking for a more complete, comprehensive themes rather than a basic, simplicity, plain theme” , you will need to make some redesign , its lovely but have a plain style and they are now looking for something else .
I think they are not asking for a redesign , because it’s not completely rejected (soft rejection) , they said they don’t want more content or features , just more imagination , not really sure what’s mean , and if they want a redesign why did they didn’t just throw it away ? rather than soft rejection ?
Hi , I uploaded a new theme , it’s a minimal blogging theme , supposed to be simple and clean , you know 35$ theme , i got soft rejected for this reason :

I already added more content to inner pages , this is supposed to be a 30-35$ blogging theme that doesn’t came with tons of features or pages like other ordinary themes
Any ideas or suggestions are welcome .
Yes, I just got soft rejected for the same reasons, it seems that TF have changed the rules and now every theme require to be integrated with Envato WordPress Toolkit Library, I already finished and uploaded again, now I am waiting for their reply, good luck brother
Thanks for feedback asalah , They have a very tough rules now .
Good luck with your theme .
Hi , we uploaded a new WordPress theme and we’ve got a soft rejection for these reasons :
- All themes require integration with the Envato WordPress Toolkit Library.
- It seems like you’re using the HTML5 doctype, make sure you’re making proper use of all associated HTML5 tags. e.g nav, header, section, etc.
Does anyone else got a soft rejection for the same reason ? We already submitted the html version of the theme couple of months ago and the reviewer didn’t ask for JSHint test or anything else .
