7D files are .mov H264 ~50mbp\s

Cut it in Premiere or After Effects and encode with same parameters. You wont loose any details then. I did like that many times with my 7D footages.

Only .mov format is acceptable on VH. My new project was soft rejected yesterday, because i used .mp4 H264 for my assets. Here is a piece of Soft rejected email regarding this issue:

Video assets must be provided as image sequences or video files within a Quicktime MOV container, and must use one of the following encoding formats (no other formats are accepted at this time):
  • Photo JPEG
  • Photo PNG + Alpha
  • Apple ProRes 422
  • Apple ProRes 422 HQ
  • H.264
