That was the one that start me on Theme options panel design back in the day.

I second the note about doing a Wordpress version. When I first started with Envato, I was told to do a template, see how it sells then do a Wordpress version. Well, I did it backwards. I started with a Wordpress version then later released a template. Wordpress themes are what sell on Envato.

Don’t expect your first theme to buy you a car. My goal with Envato is to continually increase my sales compared to the last item I released.

Promote your work through social networks and Wordpress Theme forums. Make sure you provide very detailed setup instructions and provide quality support.

Last, just be patient. Keep releasing new items. As you release, your skills will improve and your sales will increase.

I personally prefer Textmate & Transmit, but I have used Coda and for what your needs are and your level of coding, Coda should be perfect for you

As a professional web developer, I have learned over the years, never deliver the final product until the final payment is processed.

I will normally setup the final product on a dummy server for the client to view. but wont deliver the files until payment is received and processed.

Upload Issues!

Hey everyone, as you have probably noticed, I have not been around the forums much this month. I have picked up a couple of client jobs, and have had to put my “theme-ing” on hold. I keep getting request to have my themes customized by individuals who have purchased them. I am looking to hire someone to help with these requests. It is pretty basic stuff, but I need someone who knows the Wordpress codex pretty well.

One thing I have noticed, is that Wordpress themes that are $32 have multiple stylesheets. All of them that are at $32 seem to have light versions, dark versions, various color options, ...

I like the idea. The only thing I saw that I would improve is the read more button. It looks strange the way you have the text inside aligned. As for that I agree that a very faint background could help. Have you considered a super fine paper texture background like a piece of news paper?

I would say on average it is about 2 weeks per design for me. But I also have a day job and a dog to take up my time. If I was a full time freelancer, design time would be probably a week.
