Acers die very often, and Acer owns Emachines and Gateway and they all are terrible (or I forget who owns who, but they’re all linked, I think) Sony Vaios are really good, I had one before I got my monster of a computer. Everyone says if you can’t get a Mac, get a Vaio.

VAIOs are terrible! I’ve had two P Series Netbooks which are by far the most expensive netbooks going and they are the worst mistake I’ve ever made. Sluggish performance compared to Netbooks half the price (I paid £600 each apx $1000 each). Not only that I’ve also had the UX series UMPC which was close to £2k from selfridges ($3,200) and again, useless. I quite liked the fingerprint lock but the battery was pathetic.

So to summarise, I’ve owner 3 VAIOs and have been impressed with 0!

I second this, why buy a Vaio when ASUS make them anyway, plus too much bloat on the install CD

My advice is to download firebug lite for chrome or firefox, no doubt your going to be faced with a fistful of errors and tweaks you will need to fix.

You can always download Uniserver and install a local server to practise building your site, its quite simple really, you just need to install the software, PHP myadm and create a new database, then install your CMS , template, etc.

This is the best thing to do I believe, so you know what your expecting.

Asus are a great company with good products, that being said, when something does go wrong, you have to deal with their disgraceful non existent customer service! 3 months I had to wait and things were steal wrong.

I can second the Lenovos too, my mumsy got one for cheap from her boss, not the latest and greatest but the thing is a little beast, the cooling in the system always maintains good temperatures and I have not had a problem with it since, for my mumsy that is.

I always do a little search on the model number to make sure no known hardware design faults are with the unit.

Do you really consider a 1 line code of embedded video a pro/expert job? LaureB, get back at me, I will do it for free…
Hey, I can send back to you some of this works. To do them all for free. Because it’s, like, easy for you. :P

Yes go ahead! You know the joke is, I have been having 48 hour days for the last 3 months building my site and you would be suprised to know I am republising ebooks and building a free library, no advertising, nothing! I dont say this too brag…well just a little…I mention this also because its the principle of business, if you give more in value than you take from the person, you will be successful.

You lot need to visit my site, jump of your high horse and do some reading, I have a load of free ebooks at my site, if you want come and have a read, it will help you run a business, not choke it to death!

I still disagree, if someone does not have a clue what they are doing, then you all are missing out on a golden opportunity! What happened to the thought she could have been passing this off to a freelancer to save time, she might actually do this for a living.

Yet you go around calling people arrogant!

Its like big corperations who give out testers to try, you get what you give.

I have helped many people sort out quick Jobs, yes I said “quick job” to find that they come straight back to me, this time I let them know a price.

You are all confused, the person came here asking for assistance, she clearly has some understanding otherwise she would not have so precisely guessed it would take no more than 1 hour, and if anyone took longer than an hour to embed a quick video on a wordpress homepage, you need to up your game and this is coming from a noob.

I also believe that if your main concern is money in in the initial deal, your preparing to fail.

I do genuinely love what I do, helping someone out for an hour is nothing compared to the masses of online tutorials I have watched and read, writing these up take just as long! In all honesty, I wouldnt know nothing without them.

It seems more of you are offended that she got the time frame right and were a little upset you could not squeeze some extra pennies out of her, call me ignorant.

Peace

Hi peeps,

I have been working like an alchemists in the lab for quite some time now and have been turning base leads into gold, amazing! No, I haven’t really, 2 day shifts, countless sodas, blurred vision, arthritis, back pain and headaches! Oh how I love working online, the envy of all GSM ’s worldwide.

Anyhoo, back to the purpose of this post.

I really need to get a small team together, but at the moment, I just need to find a designer to help me in the finishing touches of my site, advise me on my homepage modules positions and also be able to provide me with an eBook cover of on a weekly basis…

I am currently working on a small, inspirational book sharing site, using some tedious tools, I have finally managed to get a working platform together on Joomla. So far, I am very pleased with the results. I don’t have a clue what I’m doing so its not bad for a noob.

I seek an individual who’s concerns for money are secondary and are not robotic in their hourly wage, what do I mean by this? Let me clarify, the library I am currently building is going to be free and open, there will be no advertising on the website and I am doing this work from love. Its a little thought that turned this into a huge project.

So I am hoping someone will see and love the idea of the site and actually give more value than they take for me, seeing the opportunity in the traffic. I of course am willing to pay you for your work, but I want someone who will work with love like I have also and not start charging me for silly things.

If anyone is interested in creating this dream, let me know and I will set you up with a login to the backend to have a look around.

Thanks
I am willing to work with u. If you give me an opportunity I will grateful to you.

Tell me more about your expertise and we can get things moving
