Well as usual you will get either tons of excuses why this is necessary and for the greater good of the community or a short we are so sorry. Such a shame. Very sorry mate, i really hope you get a satisfying answer.
First week was kind of okish. But this week a disaster!
This is playing with peoples lives! Would like to see if somebody put down envato marketplaces for 4 days, somebody would get such a hard law sue.
Again i am asking for a valid argument, why taking 30% on support earning? Hope this post does not get deleted as last one was. But i think no more then 15% should be taken as here we actually have additional expenses and how will you name this type of charge its a bit hard to name it as platform fee since well… there is no real platform that we use and majority of us have to pay for subscriptions for support platforms.
Not trying to be a pain in the bottom just wan’t someone to help me to understand.
I love it, but i cannot install any plugins, internal error any ideas?
Since we are selling items at micro stock prices – the definition of the product that is on-line, is that it must be in working order to be listed for sale as a ‘ready made’ completed product.. therefore the only definition of support that can be mandatory is relating to the product having a critical error / bug which would deem it as a faulty product.
An example of a bug would be: the item stated it works with twitter, but it doesn’t work with the latest twitter API.. then that is a bug and would need to be supported. Basically anything the item states it can do, but does not work would be classed as a bug which needs to be fixed / supported.Otherwise since we’re not earning enough per sale to guarantee individual customer support, any other type of question is up to the author.
+1 nicely sad!
Guys you do have to see this from envato’s perspective. If this system is from beginning as they say it is they pay (in my opinion) far less taxes. So… if they say “ok, ok we are the sellers” then envato is in violation and the top dogs go by by for a lot of years or pay humangus fines which could bring envato to there knees.
In the other case we all go by by and again envato goes down.
The main thing is that if they did it the right way from the start prices would have to be much higher in the beginning and regulations would require more staff and more accountant expenses either from there side or ours, which would really make envato not so competitive.
Keep in mind, that in my opinion envato’s success is in really low prices and free everything else .
VAT a lone rises the price or lowers the profits for envato up/down to 27% depend’s on the country. And with all administrative expenses that come with that… well do the mat.
Definitely the easiest solution would be to acknowledge the status as it looks like, envato sells we get commission, but as i described before… well… this is gonna be nasty.
Just adding VAT well we know that that’s a big chunk of money for users. So sales can go down.
Actually it will not, in the end i get money from them, and i would need info for each and every client. Our laws are like that. If i don’t get a visible payment on my bank account from each client it doesn’t mean a squat! Envato is not a financial institution meaning a bank.
collis… i will be direct… either you really don’t get me/us or you are deliberately evading the questions/statements.
IT IS NOT an issue that you always had this system, we are trying to TELL YOU that if it was always as you say, you did it WRONG, hence ILLEGAL for EU laws! your system that you mention would require us to issue an invoice to each and every client for that we would need all there info and vat info.
If they pay me I have to issue an invoice to each and every one of them and i have to charge VAT accordingly!
Meaning that I also have to have power for a refund and in my SWIFT account meaning BANK account, every transaction has to be visible.
But now I get only one transaction from envato, by our laws you pay me! And since it is an Australian company out side of EU and it is a licence business i am not obligatory to pay VAT as an author.
Please do not respond with this kind of answers as they are misleading
Even for the past all of this invoice have been reported to our TAX institutions and if I report now for the past i am up to serious penalty or jail as this would count under tax evasion and to be honest were the hell would i get 22% of all the income to pay for the past?
Please these are not badges or design issues on the site this are serious existential issues!
