hello!

I’m not saying that repetition is bad ,in a house track but for me the whole composition is not so pleasing to my ears. The melody seem a little psychedelic and it does not sound commercial enough.Overall reverb I hear on the song is not so appropriate for a house track.

And you can try to variate a little, make some breaks, build ups and so on to make the song not so dull.

Best wishes!

hello!

My little opinion would be that the song is too simple ,basic notes as if it was made back in the 90’ with the technology that was in that period.I’m not against the old school dance music but it has to be coated with the sound of our days .The song doesn’t go anywhere ,it looks like it is in straight line with no variations. And the synths you use sound outdated.

Hope these few observations help you!

Hello all!

I’ve been a member here for a few months and of course I’m still learning everyday new things about how this market works and what makes a song sell and appeal to the buyers.Let me share with you something:

I’ve been producing music for over ten years now taking the road of electronic music, especially trance music which gave me some satisfactions over the years because I’ve always went with “I’m composing what I like to listen” and never thought vice-versa “Compose what you think people want to hear” I don’t know if this is a bad thing or not but there are so many artists in this domain(still referring to electronic ) that changed their style from unique and interesting to commercial and easy to understand.I remember long time ago I was searching for something on the internet and came across this site and thought to myself after listening to some music here” well, this is easy do do!” and left the site with no interest in it and with the idea in my head that this kind of music is easy to produce and that it isn’t my road to take. Kind of funny now, that I think about this :)

So for me,making trance music which is not a commercial type of music and appeal to a small amount of followers in comparison with other music genres was my goal.I’m talking about uplifting 140+ BPM trance where there are so many details that a composer has to keep in mind and explore. For example In a final trance song I would use three different kicks,5-6 different hy-hats all processed in different ways,3-4 basslines(low-sub,mid ,high),3-4 pads ,5-6 or more different synths with different melodies all working together to give that uplifting melodic feel, tens of processing effects and eqs all working to make each sound feel right, hundreds of different building blocks and so on; so one would think that making this kind of music is really hard and time consuming and that should be right but now I come to this statement:

I think making the right kind of music for AJ is even harder .

Don’t get me wrong-I like making music for AJ a lot because it gives me the chance to explore new genres and develop my skills in this way and I become very attached to each and every song I make putting in it emotions and work but I still don’t have the right ingredients; I tend to do with a song I’m making for selling on AJ what I usually do with my electronic songs and that means making them complex, adding lots of melodies and details and I think this is not right;on the other side when I try to make it simple –it is too simple and gets rejected so still trying to find the right balance here.

The question from me to you would be: How do you find making commercial music for AJ in comparison with your musical background and personal style?

Please share your thoughts ,personal experiences and why not few tips on how you’re dealing with this .

Best wishes!

Marian

I’m not complaining I’m just a bit dissapointed because I could’t attract the buyers with that song which now lays on the bottom of the lake(to avoid the expression lost in the jungle).
Do you want to post a link to the track, I’d like to hear it. :)

well, here is the song I was referring to:

hy Coolmer!

The idea is there, but there are certain issues that may need attention:

-the hy-hats are disturbing and I believe that you could use an eq to make them more easy to listen because now they are taking the whole place in the song-at least in the first part

-in the second part of the song, they are not present,it would looks like a careless composition;

-There is no simetry. The structure of the song has no order – it is like you made it in a hurry.

-the theme of the song could be developed more because as it stands now there is just a piano arp that goes on an on with no variations.

-the part where you have the clap at the beginning and in the middle of the song seems like it is from another song ,it doesn/t really fit.

-at the end the reverb of the piano gives the sound a metallic effect-now I don’t know if it is from the piano samples or the effect but this should be corrected because a more natural approach sounds much better.

Hope these few ideas help!

Best wishes

hello!

The song has a clean and proffessional mix and it’s a pleasure to listen to it;it is easy listening has a gentle flow and releases positive feelings. So I think it has all the ingredients to be a part of a project at least as good as this song.

On the other hand I’m too in that same story where I have a song in my portofolio in which I put a lot of work and emotions and didn’t even had one sale.

I’m not complaining I’m just a bit dissapointed because I could’t attract the buyers with that song which now lays on the bottom of the lake(to avoid the expression lost in the jungle).

The conclusion would be that we,all, should work harder and keep producing and with the help of new songs promote the songs that didn’t have their five minutes of fame.I think it can only get better in time.

ps:while writing this response your track played three times and I’ll go again because,it is so calming and relaxing…great for my coffee time :)

just a thought:maybe this kind of thread if it starts rolling should be kept on the top of the AJ forum all the time -and it should be like an alternative to the front page for the buyers – why not click here and do a little search.

I mean this idea is possible and does not need great resources in comparison to another section on the top page like reviewer’s pick or hot new songs …It would be a start

thank you for reading!

I have an idea. Let’s start a thread called “The Hidden Gems of Audio Jungle”. Here are the rules, don’t leave comments, just provide the link to a track that you feel as though is a “hidden gem”, a great track that never hit the front page and never sold a lot. Last rule, you can not select your own track. It will be interesting to hear what resonates with everyone else, and it will also bring forth music that is currently hard to find. Maybe the videohive folks might appreciate this “curated” playlist. So if someone can start this thread…over the next few days and even weeks we can bring forth a playlist of “hidden gems”...What do you think? One final thought…don’t worry about “commercial viability” ...let’s just send links to what we think are great tracks, just great music. 2 links per author would be best. This way we’d avoid 2 or 3 authors posting too many links to their favorites. Lets have as many as possible participate, but only post “link” 2 tracks in the thread…

+1 good ideea
