Jordon thanks for the message.
One thing I think people sometimes forget is the path of business. As businesses grow their overhead grows and they have to look at expanding their business model. Sometimes this can be good and other times it can inflame customers.
It has been appearing lately that the marketplaces are turning into stock houses and loosing some of their charm. In many ways I like the changes and in others not so much. We all have our opinions and no one but the company itself can determine it’s path, come what may.
I think the main concern is the same as what is being seen in crowd sourcing, devaluation of the work being done.
Some creatives make their money in customization and specialization and work hard to deliver that quality and results. Other creatives believe in the bulk approach, which is basically make many many files with just enough quality to sell them as low prices and hope for tons of sales.
Logos are the main identity of a company and come with all types of issues which IMO I don’t think this marketplace is equipped to handle at this point in time.
I do see other areas that the marketplaces could really excel in and profit from that wouldn’t have caused the anger that is coming across in this thread.
Thank you for listening to everyone and I hope the marketplaces grow and continue to meet Envatos’ business needs.
We need to have Isolated Objects moved to PhotoDen as they are a much better match on that marketplace than here. Photos just don’t fit well.
On PhotoDune when you go to ALL Files there is a list of the top authors for the month. Great Feature! Would love to see that here on GraphicRiver and others. Made me check out their files.
Was wondering if there were any updates on this subject?
@BrianCoyDesign, that’d be like giving him free reign to dictate, could you imagine a client like this when he could see your screen haha!
Actually I can. Made the project go faster, made communication easier and I was able to teach the difficult client how to work with me. Doing this lead to a lead which was very profitable.
You’d be amazed.
Something to think about. Have you tried screen sharing with your client so you can see what they see. You never know what or why a client may not see the changes.
Teamviewer is free and I use it with my clients all the time.
Yes but which ones? I’m just saying it would be nice to have that on the right or in a similar spot on all files for sale. It would make it easier for us buyers.
I have a friend whom asked me to purchase one of the files here for their website and switch out the text and logo. On the surface that’s pretty basic.
The one he was looking at requires a plug-in. No where on the file page is there any information on what plug-in is required for the file to work. I did find the information only because another purchaser asked the question.
I’d like to suggest that Envato add in a plug-in field so authors can provide links to the plug-ins that are required as this has a huge barring on someone purchasing files from this marketplace.
I’d make it so anyone trying to spam or infect user’s computers would be put on a global directory so we knew where they lived and anyone of us could knock on their door and kick their ever loving behinds.
