I think when you look at the top authors list you find that there are many different ways to be successful on AJ. Many of them have small portfolios with one or two top sellers being the majority of their sales, some have larger portfolios with several top sellers and some have large portfolios without many top sellers but consistent sales across many tracks.
I have been on AJ for a while now and have seen several authors join much later than I did and have a greater level of success. There will always be intense competition and people better and more talented than you. (I listen to many tracks here and am amazed and jealous of other writers talents often). At the end of the day, persistence and quality WILL rise to the top.
There have been many discussions as to what defines quality but this is how I look at it. Your average purchaser is not going to be a musician and won’t have a clue or care if you used a $5000 mic preamp or the internal mic on your computer – All they care about is whether or not the track works for their end use. End users listen to music and watch television and know when a track has audio/technical or composition problems – they might not be able to tell what is wrong but they know when something is wrong. I am not a photographer but you can put two pictures in front of me and I can tell you the one done by a pro and a amateur. I may night know technically why one is better but I can pick out the pro.
Learn your craft, work hard, be persistent and with a little luck (which hard work and persistence usually bring) any author can be successful on AJ.
Not sure. It usually takes a couple of hours for my tracks… Especially if you have the paypal address of your reviewer.
Knock on wood, no I am not.
I am pretty sure that in the contributor agreement fine print there is a requirement for each author to create a Uke , Handclaps, and glockenspiel track.
It is not an accusation and the evidence is everywhere – it is called music that is uploaded to audio jungle. And i said “fake” meaning the music kinda sounds flawless which is a good thing for this kind of business ain’t it?
hmm, I am not sure I understand. Your accusation is that most of the music here was that it sounded “fake” because of the guitar sounds. Now it sounds fake because it sounds fake because it is flawless…
Pod Farm 2 and Guitar rig 5 is what i use but for AJ i think its better to stick to Guitar Rig 5 instead of Pod Farm cuz it sounds more “fake” and that is what they seem to dig here
That’s a pretty serious accusation to be throwing around, especially without any evidence to support it.
Spend more time writing and less time worrying… Even at 12 or 13 days, it is a short que…
This app Is just ok. I’ve been using LightRedStripedPony for the last two years and I find it’s been hit or miss.
Based on your success I would say it has been more hit than miss. Is that an iOS app or an Android app? Its pretty amazing the portfolio you can build with a phone these days.
