This would be the same in anything in life where income is obtained outside of the rules, legislation etc and that person is caught out.
P.s. I strongly suggest you do not share how you were doing it here. TF have said it’s not allowed so sharing the process is only going to incite more people trying it.
To use the motor analogy – if you cannot do something to whatever you buy then you have to hire someone who knows how to do it. Same goes for building websites. there is a degree of assumed knowledge when buying on here and if someone cannot handle it then they need to hire a freelancer who can do it for them just like you would need to hire a mechanic to change your engine
As has been said envato support are the only people who can issue refunds however be aware a lack of experience or knowledge is not grounds for a refund – only if the file is broken or not as described.
@Fillerspace – I guess it totally comes down to the author in question. We know many PSD authors who are happy to just sell the rights to their file (for anything from 1 -5 K) and then we can code whatever we want for 100% profit.
Its an easy sell – they get the money instantly and they do not have much part to play going forward anyway so they can focus on designing something new
+10000000 Can we add repeat spammy “we have a team of web professionals who are well suited to meet your need…” replies too – if they are that good then they should be cleaning up on Microlancer not clogging up here.
p.s. I have NO problem with established authors or noted community members and experts offering to help or take stuff on – thats totally different
Am i the only one who finds this thread confusing?
We have coded multiple files for authors on here from PSD to HMTL and WP. I think partnerships are a great way to go especially combining each others’ skills.
That said – we would never partner with someone who doe snot already have approved PSDs or at least files up to the par. We have made recommendations to PSDs around functionality but never for core design.
If we had to do that then why would we not just do it ourselves and keep 100% profit?
I do not get what anyone would get out a partnership like that? Charlie4282 is right in a partnership the ‘designer’ is responsible for the finished product for the coder to bring to life.
@surroundsound we are always open to partnership ideas ( can link our other profile with examples potentially) but I do not understand what you are offering?
For what its worth to answer @fillerspace we agreed 65/35 as we had to write all the code, documentation and support the files going forward. Yes the designs are the key (hence why they need to be completed by the designer themselves to make their role in a partnership worthwhile), but as you rightfully pointed out – the income comes form the coded versions and the work involved goes on over time whereas when the design is done its done.
I don’t think it is taking any longer than usual? It has always been a few days. Of course it also depends on what else is being submitted.
If you have submitted a file its always worth linking to the demo here to get community feedback etc
What is worse is that the account that is selling the linked file from earlier in this thread has several TF files all by different authors and their latest is just this months free file!
