I tried the pastie from kenshin and I also tried Palehosefan’s code, I still get told 100 pixels height less then what the .fla stage is set to…I made a fresh fla with 400 height and it traces the height as 300 :S I’ve gtg for a bit, when I return I’ll try rebooting and isolating it, perhaps something is conflicting, though I can’t imagine why…

yes. you should have any conflict. :(

I tried it and it works perfectly

I recommend it remove ADDED _TO_STAGE event always

private function handleAddedToStage(event:Event):void { this.removeEventListener(Event.ADDED_TO_STAGE, handleAddedToStage); this.runAssets();
}

Oh right sorry…I always forget to downgrade to cs3 for sharing…

I had 300×350, and when published would always be told 250 instead of 350. Its very confusing for me.

Kenshin, I do not understand why my swf thinks the stage height is 100 pixels less then the actual stage height. This is my first time making a class.

Well, the size of the stage is assigned to your FLA … and in the properties of the FLA said that the size is 300×350.

I think these can not be changed by code.

I am trying to learn as3 classes. I found out that I cannot reference stage.stageHeight in the constructor and using google learnt how to get its value later on. However for some reason whatever I have stage height set to on the .fla, the class is always returning the height – 100 pixels….I cannot figure out why…

Here is a pastie of the class I’m using, it just draws a circle to stage and tries to put it in the center but fails…

Code

And heres a link to the .fla with .as class in .rar format.

what you don’t understand? specifically??

‘öäüÖÄÜß’ and ’@’ not working.

Have you embedded the letters in the textfield?

Edit: On a german keyboard …

The text field has all uppercase, lowercase, numerals, and punctuation embedded. I’m starting to think that you’re right though and it may be due to some sort of corrupt font issue. The odd thing is that I embedded Arial, which is pretty universal, solely to have control over anti-aliasing. Do you know if you have Arial on your PC? Thanks so much for your help!!!

everyone has the font Arial ;)
