Yes, I’d also be intrigued to see the final specifications. Especially in terms of the wording as well as the amount of space we have to define our individual terms.

Okay, now: I am aware that you will explore this with a dedicated survey. But: “The author’s willingness to help with questions or customisation”?

I sincerely hope that “willingness to help with customisation” won’t be part of that list ;-) ... Support for any faults: of course. Support with installation issues: sure, I’m a nice person. Support with customisations: please…

Other than that: sounds like exciting changes and I am happy to hear that some serious work is being done by you all. Moreover, I am relieved to hear that you are consulting with a real statistician to ensure reliability & validity. Bring it on! :-)

Just to add my two cents:

I believe it would be helpful to increase the allowed text-length of the custom text that goes with the support options so as to enable authors to provide any further clarifications (textarea: “item_support_preferences[support_policy]”).

For example, in my case I would like to:
  1. point to the manual
  2. what to do if the problem was not solved (i.e. make use of the aforementioned contact method)
  3. what information to provide once they decide to contact me
  4. state the usual response time
  5. state exceptions to the usual response time (holidays, etc.)

Currently, the textarea merely saves the first ~ 250 characters – hence, a detailed description is not really practicable.

If you cannot (or do not intend to) increase its length – please be so kind to add the “maxlength”-attribute to the respective textarea. ;)

Dear everyone,

To whom it may concern: I have just released my first app for Windows Phone which enables Envato authors to check their balance and sales statistics on-the-go: “Pocket NVato”.

Features:

- Current balance & commission rate

- Statement of the 50 most recent sales

- Overview of monthly sales

Please note that this app is still at a very early stage. However, with your feedback, I would like to develop this further so as to fulfill the needs of those of you carrying Windows Phone devices with them.

I have planned a few additional features for the future, such as a feed of your items’ comments, implementing a live-tile as well as customisable currency conversion and more.

Anyway, as I said: before it collects any more dust I thought I release it in the hope that you may find it useful – it has been sitting on my desktop for a couple of months now.

Finally, any feedback would be welcome – but please be kind to my fragile soul. ;-)
